Editor’s Comment:03/06/2018-.  Ripoff Report believes in transparency and the more information the better.  In this instance, there has been court action regarding this subject Report.  We believe it important to note that not all Court Orders are alike.  Many court orders are absolutely legitimate and we make no representations about this court order situation However, we want our users to be aware that sometimes courts enter orders based upon default which typically means that the defendant didn’t show up.  Sometimes a defendant won’t show up because they didn’t even get notice of the case proceedings in the first place and other times defendants may not show up because they don’t necessarily have the knowledge and/or the financial resources to fight.  Still, in other instances, a defendant may simply appear only to stipulate (settle) the case by agreeing to stipulate to a court order because they are being bullied by the plaintiff and whether what they said was true or not, they just want the matter to go away so they can move on with life and make the plaintiff go away.  Again, we make no representations about this particular court order situation.  We are simply providing you with additional information so that you may be more informed and, coupled with any additional research you feel is necessary, may make your own informed decision regarding the validity of this Report.  As always, we encourage our readers to do their homework and not just rely on one single source for information.  Google, through the Lumen Database, has provided the following document relating to this subject Report:

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Plaintiffs Joshua Stern and The Stern Team (collectively referred to as “Plaintiffs”) have initiated an action in the Third Judicial District Court of Salt Lake County, Utah, case number 160902290 (the “Action”), due to the false statements made by the author of the original report number 1238182, which was reported under the username “JoshuaStern” and was posted on Ripoffreport.com on June 26, 2015 (the “Report”). In the Action, Plaintiffs seek to subpoena the records of Xcentric Ventures, LLC for your identifying contact information to be sent to Shumway Van at 8 East Broadway, Suite 550, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111 (the “Firm”).  Plaintiffs have served a subpoena on Xcentric Ventures, LLC, the company that owns and operates this website, to reveal your identity.  You may have a right to file and serve a response to the subpoena anonymously. If you intend to file and serve a response, please do so, or notify the Firm of your intent to do so on or before September 30, 2016.

I first stumbled upon this in July of 2015.  I ignored this post thinking it would go away.  Here I am a year later having to hire an attorney to discover the identity of the individual who posted this false report and used my identity to do so.  Now having spoken with clients who 'googled' me prior to my visit with them, I realize that this is affecting the business I've worked so hard to build over the last 14 years.  Until I can get the post removed I encourage you, the consumer, to verify the accusations personally by calling 1) Utah Division of Real Estate – 801-530-6747 2) Utah Association of Realtors – 800-594-8933 and 3) Salt Lake Board or Realtors – 801-542-8840.  I would be equally concerned to do business with me regarding the accusations put forth in this phony post.  You can also feel free to look at all the positive posts that have been written about me over the years in places like Zillow, or Trulia, or ServingSaltLake.info or our blog at http://thesternteam.blogspot.com.  We've worked hard to give the Realtor community a positive reputation, and we'll continue to be an example of postive ethics wihtin our industry.
