I reached out to a Craigslist seller about an ATV that I wanted to purchase.
This was the first email...
Hello , 2004 Polaris Predator is still available. It is in a good condition, no damages, it has never been involved in any kind of accidents, no problems at the engine, runs very well. It has an 90cc engine with 14,000 miles, a perfect atv. I'm selling it at this final price $400 because my wife died 6 months ago (she had a heart attack) and brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it asap. I also got a new job and moved to another city, and many other things have priority now.
I was hestitant but continued to discuss this with the person ... notice there is never a signature on the emails... and they will not give out a phone number.

As I told you in my first email, got a new job and moved to another city. Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with eBay Motors so my presence isn't necessary. They won't give me any money until you receive and test the atv. The atv is at the shipping company, ready to be delivered. The shipping cost is included in the total price of the atv! You got 5 days to test it and inspect the atv. So if you want to make this deal I need the following details from you:-full name and address-shipping address-phone number. Once I got all the details, I will forward them to eBay and they will proceed with the order. They'll email you with all the information that you need to complete this deal and also they will confirm that the deal is conducted through them and I'm a legitimate seller. Waiting your email with the requested details. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you.
I told the person to send me the invoice ... its a fake ebay motors site... it comes from eBay Motors <[email protected]> ...
asking to pay with ebay vouchers which is ridiculous....
This is a scam and I also found this fake name on another site from years earlier....
