Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In Oct of 2007, I went to Joe Cooper Ford of Shawnee, to look at a jeep. Ron G. was the salesman. Although at first very cordial, he soon turned out to be the lying salesmen they all seem to be. I was first approved for a loan, but for the reason of "they could not give us enough for the jeep" was sent back to the dealer for yet another loan co. with paperwork to sign. This time I qualified, but another 50.00 was added to my payment on the loan!

I went to see "Mr personality plus" finance person (Jason G.). Who repeatedly make me feel like a moron on financing, when in fact, I am a Credit Manager myself. He said the New finance co. "required" that they add 575.00 to the contract for Taxes, Title and Reg. I informed him I had never heard of such a bogus thing! That meant I would be paying another 575.00, plus interest for 7 yrs on the loan! I then told him before signing I wanted to contact the finance co myself as I had the money upfront. He gave me a surprised look and hum hawed then said well they might take it off the price of the jeep. I said do I look stupid, you control the pricing on the jeep, not them. He then said well, I will take it off right now then and then he added it back on the bottom of contract..so a washout.

He then proceeded to tell me I would get a check from the finance co, made out to myself and also OTC. to get my tags, etc. I then signed and left. I had traded in a 95 Aspire for $ 500.00 downpayment.

The next morning I called the finance co to verify what went on at the dealership, as I suspected they DID NOT require that the fees for licensing be added, but it fell on the dealship! and to make things worse, they told me that they do not issue a check for these fees back to me. I then called Joe Cooper Ford back and ask for finance again. I was told Jason was out (good thing) and another finance person would "help me". This fella stated that they themselves would send me a check for the 575.00. At this point I am worried, as nothing seems to be said that isn't a lie.... I did receive the check a few days later.

Here is the nightmare...I also have a Chevy Silverado, oweing just 464.00, titled with GMAC in Oregon. In Oregon the lienholder holds title til paid for. I made my usual truck payment at the end of Oct. A weeke later I received a check back from them, with no explanation. I called and they said it was an overpayment on the truck, which I told them they had made a mistake. I ask who paid this truck off? They informed me that Joe Cooper Ford of Shawnee had on Nov. 2! They stated the title was also sent to them! I told them was fraud, I never traded this truck in and no where on my contract did it state so. The got the information off my credit report and used it to get my truck payoff! I contacted them and still have not received my title back!

So you bought a car and had 2 open auto loans. I'm a finance manager. Jeep Financial is not a lender at a Ford dealership. The person that decisioned your loan (at the bank) may have not felt that 1 person should have 2 auto loans. So you buy one car have the expectation of having 2 car loans and 2 car payments. Are happy with the payments. Then find out that you had 2 cars paid off and not just one? I would send Ron a gift card for dinner! As far as you title goes. Oklahoma is not a title holding state. When a loan gets paid off in a state that is the lender typicaly sends the title to who ever paid it off or your address in that state. This is a $20 fix. Go to the DMV and get an Oklahoma title to your paid off car. This is something you need to do anywhay since you live in Oklahoma now.

I then called Ron at Joe Cooper, he insisted there was some mistake..I said yes you can BET there is! He said that my jeep finance co again "required" that they pay off my other vehicle. I again, made an unwriteable comment to him and ask why I was never informed of this, at any time and if so, why didn't GMAC send the title to me instead of Joe Cooper Ford! After all, I am the one who had been making payments 7 yrs on it, with over 16,000.00 invested! He had no answer but "would definately get back to me" as he couldn't even find the title! I then contacted the jeep finance co. only to find out , as I suspected, they never required anything as far as payoff on my other truck! They said they looked over the contract and noted I had traded in a 95 aspire car for 500.00 and that was all they needed. I am still waiting to get my title back on the truck. They used information off of my credit report to benefit themselves and got caught. If I had not received my payment from GMAC in the mail I would have never known of this Title fraud util I got the truck paid off. They are truly a lowdown co to deal with and I will be voicing this elsewhere also!! I am getting the paperwork I have compiled and heading for an atty!
