Buddy Swisshelm has taken me for the fool that I thought I wasn't when in reality I am. Stopped by my car dealership to inquire about a selling me a digital sign. Ironically I had been considering purchasing or leasing a digital message board. I had two estimates in my files for the current and previous year, which I opted not to spend the money at the present time as I did not yet know the direction I would be taking. Step two: Buddy had a sign available that the customer had cancelled yet the customer was still liable to purchase and had already put $6,500 down on it. Buddy told me the customer was willing to lose money however did not want to be liable for the entire sign purchase hence Buddy was told to market the sign so as to minimize the customers loss. I inquired as to who the customer was and where the sign was supposed to be placed. In order to put the story in as brief of synopsis as I can I will say that Buddy entertained the offer I had made by contacting his "boss" so as to receive the yes or no. His boss apparently came back with a counter offer to which I declined. Ten minutes later, Buddy with cell phone in hand returned to his Mercedes Benz GL 550 with a notebook and paperwork. I made a deal to lease the sign at x amount of dollars and x number of months with $1,250 down. Since the sign was already in process, it was relayed to me that the sign would need to be assembled and installed.
That was 4 3/4 months ago. I called Buddy many times and he did answer and return the calls however there was an issue with their installation company and the sign would be delayed 2 weeks. Two weeks later, no sign. More calls yet a delay in returning them. Buddy told me his mother was ill (July 24) and in the hospital. I felt very bad and added his mother to our prayer list. Buddy thanked me for doing so. Again he stated two more weeks as the installers ran into difficulties. Thursday Aug. 23 I texted Buddy letting him know that I had no choice but to turn it over to the law firm that my family has on retainer. I also let him not that I despise attorney's yet I've found them to be a necessary evil. August 31, Buddy called and left a voice mail message for me apologizing for his absence which was due to health issues in his family.
I do not desire to come across cold or unfeeling however after reading another rip off report claiming the same thing with family members I had to ignore that and let him know I know longer wished to speak to him unless advised by my counsel. He then called again and left another voice mail. I did not listen to it. I texted with my demands: My money refunded including the lease payments I have been paying (refunded), the lease terminated with responsibilities turned toward Swiss Eagle, and interest, fees and expenses. He was/is a nice guy and even gave me a book to read concerning positive outlook and work ethics. The irony is that I began to read the book and it actually was very good and it prompted me to be a man of action. Now I am. The thing that bothers me is I never do a sales job and never have to my customers in over 26 years yet I fell for one from a soft spoken professional looking man.
