The History Channel had a two hour show called "Apocalypse Island" in January, 2010, in which "explorer" Jim Turner claims he found a huge Mayan "monument" on an unknown, uninhabited, inaccessible island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.  Then he made a website admitting the island is the well known Chilean tourist center, Robinson Crusoe Island.  He asks for donations to further his "research" of $25 to $500 through PayPal.  The archeologists who have studied the island say there was no human presence on the island before the Spanish discovery in 1574 and the rock formations are just natural basaltic volcanic outcroppings.  The island is 3400 miles from the closest Mayan area in Guatemala and over 400 miles from the coast of Chile.

Mayan Palace Timeshare Scam

They are a fraud they will do anything to sell a Mayan Palace timeshare. They lie constantly to everyone; I was ripped off by them. When you try to contact then they always give you the run around they should not be allowed to rip off people anymore. When you go back they give you a different room that they sold you and every year the maintenance fee goes up. They do not tell you all these things when they are trying to get you to buy a time sheer. I spend more than $7.000 and I get the worse room there.
