My exwife and I were divorced for 6 months and were to split the tax return 50/50, which she kept the whole check. Then a short time later she received a child tax credit check for $710.93.

I was never informed about this check by anyone. I found out about the checks being distributed from the tv news. I then contacted my exwife, she told me we didnt qualify because we were not married anymore.

I then contacted the IRS to see what/how the child tax credit worked? They explained, so I proceeded to get the necassary info on how to get a copy of said check, that was already mailed, signed,(not by me)and returned to the IRS. I did manage to get a copy of the forged government document (check).

To my amazement my exwife had somebody sign my name as I would spell it. Looking at the signature, clearly a females writing. I wouldnt think its my ex's to neat, but still, she cashed it knowingly with a forged signature!

I contacted the IRS by phone, they told me it was a domestic dispute! NOT! They were not even interestd in helping me. to this day I have not even gotten a penny towards anything my ex owes me! I guess she thinks she's above the law!

I know at some point in time all of the wrong doing she has done during the process of divorce will catch up to her. She has nobody to blame but herself!

The IRS doesnt seem to want help when help is needed, but they sure got their hand out reaching in your pockets when you owe them any amount of $$

Just once I would like to see justice served where needed!!

Unfortunetly, it is a domestic disbute. Take your ex to small claims court. The filing fee should be rather small. And she will have to pay it when you win your case. Bring all copies of checks and information you have from the IRS as well as any document with your signature on it. Good luck.
