I signed up for what I thought was information on how to make money on the internet, but seemed to be a total scam. I saw an ad stating that someone from my area was making money using ICM Websites, and it said to get more information, fill out a form and credit card information for $2.97. The site said that they'd charge me 2.97 for the brochure and didn't mention any more money.
I then start getting calls from a representative asking me about myself, and wanting to help me with my business. I told him that I hadn't decided if I wanted to sign up yet or not. He, changed the subject, and talked about how good the program is. He said he wanted to send me to his director to discuss further. I told him to call me back the following Monday. In the mean time, I did research on the company and saw a ton of people getting charged 139.97 after signing up for the initial 2.97 brochure. I checked my credit card, and sure enough, it had a 139 dollar charge, plus the 2.97 for something I never received or used.
I called up the company, and they refused to issue a refund siting it was past the 3 day trial period (which I didn't know about). Furthermore, I told them I paid for something that was never received (the brochure), so that void's the contract. They basically said tough luck.
I contacted the credit card company (Chase), to see if there is something they can do. They seem hesitant to issue a refund, but want more information about the website. I'm going to direct them to the numerous complaints on this website about icmwebsites.com. Hopefully that will help.
It's just pathetic that companies have to resort to these type of tactics to make a buck from people who actually need the money.

Well, Chase advised me that they negotiated with ICM websites to get them to give me a 1/2 of the refund. Although, the refund hasn't posted yet, so we'll see if they refund the 70.00 dollars. If I had used my American Express, it wouldn't be an issue. AmEx would have refunded the money immediately. The only other two times in my life that I've desputed a charge, AmEx never questioned me, they just trusted that I was telling the truth. Maybe it's because I've been a member since I was 16. Unfortunately, ICM didn't take AmEx.
I'm still irritated that I'm not getting the full refund, but I'm tired of dealing with this worthless company (ICM Websites). DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH ICM WEBSITES.
I'll keep you updated on the status of the refund.
