What is this world coming to? Children and young adults have to fear expressing their emotions and being used.
When my grandmother told me that she had submitted my poem to a poetry contest, I never thought anything of it. I didn't think that I could ever be good enough to be published, but when she told me that I was going to be published in a book for others to see, I was very excited.
She ordered a book around the first of December and still hasn't heard anything of it. I received a letter in the mail inviting me to a convention at Disney World in Orlando, Florida on February 28 through March 3 for amature poets saying that I was a finalist for a prize of around $20,000. That was the first sign of a scam.
I am so glad that I found out that this was a scam before I wasted $800 bucks. I'm not that devestated, but what about all those others who poured out their soul to people who could care less? I hope that this report helps some and that they will be exposed for the insensitive, lying, and scamming jerks that they really are!
