Our Hunter Douglas Duette failed (motor) in July 2012 after 4 years. I took it to Interiors/Exteriors for repair as you must use an authorized Hunter Douglas firm. The repair took three months and I recieved it in late Spember 2012.
The exact same blind failed (motor) precisely one year later, exactly to the date.
I took it back into Exteriors/Interiors with my receipt and talked with Tom. There was no warranty on the prior repair. I asked, jokingly, if it was going to take another three months to repair it this time. Tom told me "no" that they were only taking a month for repairs.
I contacted Tom on November 25 for a status. He didn't know. Would call me back. Never heard from him. Called again on December 2 - repair shop has lost the blind. Called again on December 9 - shop found it and they have to put a new header and motor on it - no time frame for delivery. Called on December 16 - shop has lost it. Called on December 23 - shop can't find it, call after Christmas. Personally went into the store on January 6 - shop is going to make a new one as they can't find it. Called on January 13, 20, 27 and February 3 and 10 - same story; making a new one wiht no delivery timeframe.
You be the judge if you want to deal with these people.
