We got a call from a guy named Dan Anderson from Imperial Majestic Cruise Lines, who said he got my husband's information from the Toronto Fishing and Boating Show, which he did attend. He said that a small percentage of people was selected to go on a promotional cruise on the Imperial Majestic Cruise Line, departing from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, going to the Bahamas, and that all expenses were included.

He explained that these were promotional cruise, that they don't put advertisements on TV or Radio, and that these were paid for by their promotional dollars. Lots of people go on these, and the only obligation was to go and visit another one of their properties in the Bahamas. He knew all the customs information, he said they were registered with the Province of Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission, and that we are free to go to the website www.florida333.com to check them out at any time. He also gave us a toll-free customer service number 1-800-203-9783 to call with any questions.

He had our address that my husband provided at the Fishing Show, our phone number, he said they would mail us our travel documents by registered mail within 10 days of securing our travel package.

He wanted a credit card number to secure a deposit of $298 per person, and we were free to travel in the next 18 months. My husband's a teacher, he's had a long week, and we have been talking about getting away in the next few months anyways. He didn't even think that this could be a scam, the guy was very convincing, and he gave him our credit card number.

While we were being transferred to the "Verification Department" we checked them out on the internet. The RIpOff Report came up right away, with similar stories, and all the same travel details. I stayed on hold with them and my husband called the credit card company to alert them that they will be charging something to the credit card and to reverse the charge as soon as that happens. They said that they couldn't do anything to stop the charges, but they would have to charge something and then they would reverse it - IN A WEEK OR SO!!! Since it was Friday, the fraud department won't be open until Monday morning, and we will have to wait until then.

The Verificaiton Clerk came on and I asked about some details again of the vacation, and EXACTLY THE SAME info was told to someone else who had filled out the RipOff Report. I laid into them telling them that this was obviously a scam, and that I am going to report them to Canadian authorities, and all possible sources. She just said that they can't please everyone, and that this was legit, that she's not supposed to deal with this, she's just a verification clerk, and that Dan Anderson, who was putting a charge on our credit card at the time, would have to deal with this. Dan came back on the phone, I told him the same thing I told her, and they both just hung up...

So, they ended up with our home address, our credit card number and $367 dollars of our money. We now have to wait a week to get that cleared on our credit card, and feel like total asses for falling for it. DON'T DO IT!!! If anyone EVER offers you a free anything, ask them to send it to your home and don't give out any information! Don't be a sucker, like we obviously are.
