Although not out of line for what is expected from state-run services, I received a tollway violation. The violation stated that a vehicle on my account went through a toll without the transponder. I received an email that my acct funds were low so I replenished. Somehow this toll was not deducted from my account and without my knowledge, I was put in charge of making this happen for them. I told customer service that I wished to dispute this claim and was informed that if I do so my account would be frozen. I asked why, I go through tolls everyday commuting to work and freezing my account would be terribly inconvenient, especially when the violation I wanted to dispute was, in my opinion, far more their fault than my own. Their response... not our problem. The customer service rep even went so far as to tell me that they wished that illinois tollway did their part to make more money off of drivers so she can get a better wage. Are you kidding me? So rude, distasteful, unprofessional yet revealing. Are they really trying to complicate the situation for more income?  Its greatly concerning that our state and state employees can bully you into paying fees that reflect an error on their companies end, not my own. What is wrong with our system that this is not only allowed to happen but its actually seems part of the "unspoken" business plan. Does illinois take it as a challenge to one-up everytime they hear how corrupt this state is? I feel like I was just shaken down for someone elses debt...
