Hyundai Finance owed the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) money. Considering this is a basic cost of doing business, I don't understand how this error occurred. They apparently ignored ADOT's repeated requests for payment, so ADOT sent a letter to EVERY Hyundai leaseholder in the state threatening them with non-licesence plate renewal for their Hyundai cars. Note that these folks had NOTHING to do with this. The fact that innocent consumers are pulled into a dispute between these two entities didn't bother either one (Hyundai or ADOT) which is shameless. But, it gets worse. ADOT threatened all Hyundai car lease holders in the state of Arizona with the information that they cannot buy or sell ANY OTHER CAR THEY LEGALLY OWN!!! Plus, they cannot renew those registrations, subjecting them to future legal action, impoundment, etc. Again, these consumers have done nothing wrong, except lease a car from Hyundai. We called the dealer where the car was purchased, in Apache Junction, AZ and they blew us off. They told us it was our problem with Hyundai finance, where we got a robo call answer. ADOT said there dept that handled this closed at 3:30 pm, we got the notice at 3:35 pm and besides it wasn't there problem either.

You are talking about not understading the other poster's comments. Where the only thing you have done is show us one part of one notice from ADOT.   From that you are telling us that this finance company has not paid some fee to the State of AZ for every single car that they leased.

One would think that if this is the case it would be making some major news. Yet, outside of your post I couldn't find a single article.

So perhaps to get us to understand you could give us a few more details.  Is this a car you currently own?  If so what does the finance company have to do with paying any fees? If you returned it, is this a case where they failed to submit or complete a transfer out of your name? Is it something else?

Your comments don't really correspond to the issue

I don't quite understand your comments. We do not pay any maintenance or repair costs. I suppose you should know something about our agreement before you make a general vent against leasing and publish it under this discussion.

You Are Paying the Registration?

How nice and how generous! You are paying for the registration of a car you don't even own! What about non-warranty repairs or maintenance? Who pays for that? You do! Isn't that nice. Since you are so, so generous to pay for all these things for a car which you don't own, let us know who you are so you can pay ours as well! This is exactly why what you got into is a CAR FLEASE! The dealers love it because there is so much more profit in it while laughing at the mooches who they conned into thinking how great a deal they received because they got into a CAR FLEASE!
