Hunter Douglas Duet Honey Comb shades Their Warranty is a Rip Off Port Chester New York
One of my Hunter Douglas Duet Honey Comb Shades needed to be restrung. I contacted Wallauers in Port Chester, New York and they said it would cost $45.00 to send the Shade back to Hunter Douglas. I contacted Hunter Douglas and they told me they give a 7 year warranty on their shades. I was told that I could not directly send the shade back to them as it had to go through one of their dealers. The reason was that the dealer created a return authorization. I said I could return the shade to Hunter Douglas using Tracking. The Rep at Hunter Douglas said that wasn't acceptable in case my shade was lost. What a bunch of BS that was. They don't want to stand behind their Warranty and have their Dealer charge me $45.00 for the return. Hunter Douglas should pay the dealer if their product is under Warranty like other companies do. I would have second thoughts about buying Hunter Douglas Shades again or recommending them. They should honor their 7 year warranty at no charge instead of having a Dealer charge me $45.00. I could return my shade for under $14.00 Priority Mail. When buying shades get you Warranty in writing.
