My savings Account had $50 taken out for "INACTIVE DORMANT FEE" Without my knowledge or consent. I have been with this bank for over 10yr & never had this happen!

Account had $50 taken out for "INACTIVE DORMANT FEE" Without my knowledge or consent. I have been with this bank for over 10yr & never had this happen. This is very bad business practice. I called this bank, requested a full refund of said "INACTIVE DORMANT FEE", and was only given $30 of the $50 back. While on hold for this bank I continue to receive commericals about no minimum balance, no fees checking.....yet I had $50 taken out of my account for fees? What gives? This bank is untrustworthy with customer monies.

The schedule is right here.  However, even if you think you're right, you just admitted you didn't look at your account statement for 5 months before finally discovering the fee.  Whether it's 5 months or 10 months, it's negligent on your part and still your fault.  And again, the fee only happens when it's inactive for another 3 months prior to that, so now we're talking 8 months...

Even if we accept your version of events, you're blaming the CU for your failure to look at your statement for 5 months.  It's hard to sympathize....

It was $10 a month, soooo not sure where you think its $5 a month. You clearly have no idea what you are speaking about.

10 Months = $50

The fee is only $5 per month according to the schedule of fees from the Kinecta website (I used to be a member years ago when it was HAEFCU and then later to Kinecta) and is charged when the account has had no activity for more than 90 days and has a balance of less than $500 in the account.  The $50 you are talking about represents 10 months of fees after you didn't have any activity in the account for 3 months or 90 days prior to that.  The fee has been in place for a little over 3 years.

In addition, they don't need your consent to charge the account.  As an account holder, you automatically accept the fees when you keep the account there and don't close the account.  Now if you had first identified the fee 10 months earlier, you could have gone to Kinecta, and ask them to waive the fee, which for $5 they could have easily done.  As soon as a day later, you could have gone and close the account, take the money, and put it elsewhere.  So when you called up outraged over your 10 months of not looking at your account, what Kinecta did is to accomodate you somewhat and gave you back 6 months of fees.  The lesson is look at your statement - if you see a fee that you should not have, challenge it!

Best of luck to you.
