Stay away from Roomstore and their 12 month no payment/interest programs. I bought furniture from them in Jan. 00 and they billed me for half of it in january, I paid the account in full in Feb. 00. Roomstore again billed my account in 4 months later. I by the time I followed up with HRS USA, the credit company that does the 12 month no payment/no interest rip off. I ended up paying almost $800 in interest and had to fight to get the negative credit rating removed!! I also made over 15 phone calls for them to "Research" the charge, never heard back and had to pay interest for the time I was waiting for them to "Investigate" the charge! Stay away from both Roomstore and HRS USA! Ohh.. and to add to it the stupid sales person at roomstore asked if I would come back to buy more furniture from her...

Thought you would find the following information interesting. Heilig Meyers and HMY Roomstores were named in a class action referencing not reporting payments and not forwarding funds to the third party servicer. This resulted in many consumers making payments that were not properly credited to their accounts resulting in adverse credit reports, late payments, penalty fees, and higher interest rates. As I have read some of the comments I began to laugh. Criticism for the silliest of things. I came to this website because I was trying to find a way to pay my upcoming final end of 12 month grace period bill on line. That is the only way I know that I can track it and know for sure that it got there. All I can tell you about HRS is that I have dealt with them before. I think that I used them for Best Buy. Same as now I had same as cash for 18 months. Well of course like so many of you had said before, problems. If I remember correctly they tried to tell me that I was late with the final payment and just by checking dates from the bank I knew that this was just a scam they run because so many people are timid and will just say the hell with it and pay it. Well, the hell with that. I think I had some choice words for them and I'm sure being the person that I am threatened lawsuit for even the smallest late charge. Like I said it is the principle. Large corporations have gone to hell. None of them care about the consumer number one, but maybe even worse, there own employees. That is why the service with these places is so pathetic. When I found that I could do the 12 month thing with the Roomstore I nearly declined once I realized it was through the wonderful folks at HRS. Anyway, wish me luck. I am sending in my payment which is due on the 21st. Today is the 3rd. By the way, I am not going to waste my time by using a spellchecker and if you don't have enough education to be able to read what I have written without proper punctuation, maybe YOU should go back to the 10th grade, "jerk off" Sorry, I could not resist

first of all the people who have been ripped off from hh finances is telling the truth so to you people who were lucky enough to get by without been overcharged by hh dont down grade the poor customers who have been overcharged. I know I worked for household as a beneficial collections adj. they do overcharge and add extra interest if you are late so be grateful and thank your god you werent one of the many who have felled under the preying hands of household finance

Calling everyone with a problem "jerk offs" definitely puts you above 10th grade level. The editor of this site should not be attacked by you or anyone else! He is trying to help people. What company do you work for? Just because YOU did not have a problem with this company, does not mean no one else did. I do not believe everything I read, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I have cancelled 2 HRS credit cards because of the complaints on this site. 191 complaints, if one is credible it is one too many! I cancelled a ShopNBC/Viscom computer system- no payments for 6 months- I ordered it on 7-5-02 at 11:55pm, at 1:15am 7-6-02 one hour and twenty minutes later I was told by ShopNBC that I could NOT cancel my order. Thanks to this site I kept calling, and after six days and at least 50 calls they finally cancelled it. I do not know the editor, but I owe him my thanks and gratitude to him and all the (your words) jerk offs he supports!

First of all, I purchased a living room set on the 1 year no payment/no interest plan I recieved statements every couple months showing me my amount due and the interest accruing BUT, we paid it off with in the year and NEVER had one problem! And as for your rude comments to previous writers You can't even get your spellin and sentences right so who are you to proclaim perfection when your writins dont even lock like YOU passed the 10th grade. Your an advocate alright an advocate for jerk-offs You don't even know these people you slam That is more than rude. Bet you wouldn't say it if they were standing in front of you I think you need to find a new job.

I work for the company that you stated "doesnt give a d**n" You dont work there, and we do give a d**n, we do a lot of customers, given we don't do EVERYTHING a customer suggests,if we did we wouldnt be in business. You should hear some of the requests I hear everyday. People wanting all of there late fees waived (which they more then often deserve) If people raed their contacts they would know what will happen to there accnts if they dont pay on time, if they dont pay their balance off by the promo ending and etc. Just because you are the editor of this website doesnt mean you can place judgement on a company by what people post here, Every company everywhere has people who complain about them.

HRS is not part of the room store. Your problem is with a 3rd party and not the RoomStore I am sure your " stupid salesperson " did everything they could to satify your needs. Remeber thier salespeople are on 100% commision. Think about it.

I bought a daybed on a similar plan and paid it off within the 6 month time limit without having to pay any interest.
