Went to best buy a couple yeas ago and got a HP Pavilion 808 x machine , and bought it as a gift, The Person receiving the computer reported to me that the system had a bad video card in it which is mounted on the Mother board. I think there might been a recall of these type of machines and the person did not have the receipt due to it being a Christmas gift. I later found out that all these HP machines and others came out of the factory with bad motherboards and also video cards.

It Seems that when she would hook her camera up to the computer the screen that shows the video was not working I even had 2 computer technicians look at it and they tried other video cards and they would not work do to the priority of the Mother Board. Seems people are stuck with these bad systems, and can't get the real help they need since no one wants to take responsibility. AS for the computer I bought it from her for the face value and run it but no video since I have 3 back up systems.

HP would not do anything nor best Buy, nor any type of replacement.

Even though the system is out of warranty, its still a manufacturing problem. I know how to tear down fix and repair systems, but will not touch the mother board or replace it unless HP does something to remedy the problem. Since the warranty is out and no one would take the responsibility, I WILL NOT EVER BUY A HP AGAIN and tell everyone to stay away from HP since they do not have a good reputation any more.

In fact on a web site called pcworld.com there is a huge write up about the unsatisfied customers and others who have had the same things and more happen to them. Seems HP like other computer companies have lost the customers since they are so big today they turn their noses to the customers. Think HP will soon also have to go down hill like comp usa.

Video cards go bad, it happens with computers. You honestly think that electronics never go bad, so it must be a manufacturing issue? The warranty is to cover any problems within the specified time period, if that time period expires then any problems you have are up to you. Oh and also your computer technicians must not be worth anything if they can't figure out how to get another video card to work.
