Hotwire.com Inflated Reviews and Hotel Ratings San Francisco CA
On June 7th, I booked a hidden Hot Rate Deal for a 2-1/2 Star Hotel which stated a "80% Recommended" customer rating.
What I got was the LaQuinta Inn, Roswell, GA. Nasty Hotel in an unsafe part of an otherwise nice suburb of Atlanta.
Priceline rates this hotel as 1 Star. Hotwire's own Hotel section shows a "60% Recommended" based on their own reviews, not 80%.
This is the second time I have used Hotwire in recent weeks only to get a lesser hotel than what I bid on. The first time I thought it was just bad luck, now I know it's how this company operates.
I called Hotwire customer service to complain and the customer service rep argued with me that this hotel was as advertised. Really, you know that all the way over there in India? Ridiculous !! You agree to the no-refunds policy of course when you blind bid, but they shouldn't have a free hand to just outright cheat people, then hide behind the policy.
I will not do business with this company again and want to warn others to stay away. Priceline isn't perfect either, but they seem to do business a little more honestly.
