 Homeserve gets you to sign on for a $340 annual fee for emergency services for your home heating system.  This is the second time I have called in a "no heat emergency".  My heat isn't working and the temperature in my house is less than 50 degrees.  The response is that the customer will be scheduled for the next available service call.  For that, I could call a local service provider to make the necessary repair.  The service is misleading and clearly a scam to get a consumer to sign up thinking he or she will have access to EMERGENCY service.  The company claims that its service people are not available as they are servicing other customers and had I called in earlier, I may have been able to get service on the same day.  Trouble is I was at work and only found out I had no heat when I got home from work.  For the fees it charges, it should maybe consider hiring additional service people and maybe then it could live up to its representations.
