Spoke with customer service to express my concern that they were selling a service to a 55+ Condo Community population that is not a service that an individual is responsible for buying when living in an Condo Association. That concern could be further compounded by the perceived targeting of senior citizen residents to make a knee-jerk decision to purchase out of fear that they could potentially have this large repair cost in the future.

Asked to speak with supervisor who shared that they had multiple sources for marketing leads and I shared that my single family home has never received this service solicitation but in the past 12 months the 80 year old family friend has received it 3 times. I suggested that they speak to their lead sources to ensure that they are not targeting individual condo owners and that they do not specifically target the elderly as it could be perceived as a scam on elders.

She assured me that was not the intent but I explained that based on the multiple times that my elderly, condo living friend had been solicted while I, a single family home owner, had not received one such solicitation it was an apparent attempt by Homeserve to garner new accounts by deceit and fraud. I hope that is not the case and that these solicitations targeting elderly living in large Condo Associations will be stopped.
