HELPcard-HC Processing Wise to Avoid these parasitic lenders. One small misktake and they clobber you! Lowell Arkansas
I purchased a tempurpedic bed using 24 month interest free financing provided by HELPCard. After almost a year of not missing a single payment I changed banks and therefore had to change the automatic payments I had set up. As it happened, a payment was a few days late as a result. I called them and made an immediate payment as soon as I found out it was late. They charged me $349.89 in finance charges, $29 fee for cancelling the original automatic payments I had set up with my previous bank, $39 delinquency charge, and $14.95 fee for the phone payment I made to try to straighten things out!
Since then, I have contacted them numerous times to try to get them to waive the fees and finance charges but they are completely unsympathetic. Apparently, this is how they make their $$$. They wait and hope that their customer will make some small mistake then they clobber you with charges.
PLEASE take my advise and avoid this company like the plague!!!
By the way, I learned that the company is owned by a practicing dentist. I don't know his name but if I find out I'll let the world know they should avoid him too since he does not have anyone's welfare at heart except his own.
