The hartford insurance was referred to me by AARP. After purchasing the auto/home policies by them I made my first installment payment and went to visit Florida by my car. I returned after 15 days and called to Hartford to make another payment, but the customer service representative told me that my policies both auto/home were cancelled since application forms at the beginning was only signed by my self and not by my wife.

However, me and my wife we were digned properly all forms. and returned to Hartford. Later on I called again they said that they found signed copies and it was their mistake.

But all these past weeks/month I was out of coverage that I was traveling for 3.000 miles from Conn. to Florida??? Since they cancelled my insurance I did not pay any more installment because they did not inform me properly the cancellation to me.

Then, I purchased another policy. Now they are saying that this incident was my fault and I should pay abot $ 800.- for coverage of auto/home between March 04/August 23, 2004??? I refused to pay it and explained that they are responsible fot their own error and I was left without coverage. They referred this matter to their collection dept. which is not fair.

Alternatively, I made a claim during July 04, for water damage at my apartment, they always opposed to pay and after 4 months they claused my file without payment, according to their interpretation of Policy. Their action is totally unacceptable.

It is highly disappointing that an organization like AARP referring Hartford Ins. Co., to its member as an intermediate source altough Hartford behavior, business understanding and unacceptable bizard, dishonnest business practices occuring very often. It is shame for AARP. In the meantime It is impossible to find any responsible person to solve your problems when you have a claim or question with your policy at Hartford. I wrote a letter to the vice preseident attention who signed the policy but he never returned. Later on I learned that this gentleman was retired and not conducting any business in Hartford altough his signature was in force??? It is totally illegal and against goodwill of business practices.

They may try to collect unfairely $ 800.00, but more they put pressure I will refer more to all State/federal Agencies, consumer protection organizations, State Attorney General and other sources in order to protect my rights and inform their wrongdoing practices against their clients.
