I was in Houston, TX over the 2015 Labor Day weekend. I unfortunately wound up using a toll road that is managed by Harris County instead of TxTag. TxTag charges a $1.15 admin fee for sending an invoice if you use the roll roads they manage and you do not have a tag. overever Harris County charges $11 plus the toll for every time you enter a toll road if you do not have an EZ Pass. I am in Houston maybe twice a year. I am not going to pay $15 for a tag, establish a $40 minimum balance and attch something to the window of my car. Harris County needs to provide a way to pay when you use their roads (sometimes it is to late to get off the road) or charge a reasonable fee like TxTag now charges. My $4.75 worth of tolls turned into $37.75 becuase I accessed their roads 3 times and was charged an $11 fee. This was the amount they charged on my first bill and the only way to get the fee waived was to purchase an EZ Tag.

i might agree with you if the fees where posted. Where I am from there is one agency that is responsible for all toll roads so why would I think there would be more than one and that one would charge nearly 10x what the toll was? TxTag charges $1.15 to send your first statement. Harris County charged $33 for their first statement.

Yes PLEASE WHINE a little harder that YOU made the CHOICE to drive on a toll road. Get over yourself princess!!This is just the cost of using a TOLL ROAD!!! At no point did ANYONE put a gun to your head and FORCE you to drive on it. I have travelled MANY toll roads and there is ALWAYS a place to pay. Entering OR leaving. HOW have YOU been ripped off? Its called CAPITOLISM!!!! You know one business charges one price another business charges a different price.
