On January 2, 2004 I ordered what I thought would be a great product for my partially disabled mother. The Hair Made is a stand that allows your hands to be free while you use a blow dryer to dry your hair. I was promised in my confirmation letter that I would receive the product within 4 to 6 weeks. My credit card account was charged the same day I placed the order.

On March 3rd, 2004 I made several attempts by phone & by email to contact the company - no one answered their 800 order line (800-216-5665) and I was not able to talk to anyone on their long distance phone number either. I did not receive a response from the customer care email address either. I only received a response when I contacted the Houston Better Business Bureau.

The same day they received my complaint, March 5th, 2004, they called me 2 times in 20 minutes (leaving a message each time) and emailed me 20 minutes after that. I responded to the email the same day with a request for the order to be cancelled & a refund of the entire charge to my credit card. They called me back on Monday, March 8th, 2004 and said that I would receive a refund of the charges in 4 business days & that my order had been cancelled.

Today is March 24, 2004 and I still have not been issued a credit. I have since disputed the charge with my credit card company and they have tentatively issued a credit. I am still unable to get through to the company and I am still working with the Houston Better Business Bureau to try to resolve this but wanted to let others know about this situation.

The Houston Better Business Bureau has received several complaints about this company and it's only fair that others know there is a problem with this company and hopefully, this will prevent others from being taken advantage of.

I am extremely happy that this gentleman had better luck with this company. I, however, still have never received my product nor have I received a refund on my credit card which was promised to me in March. I continue to get the run around from various representatives with this company. The standard line is that my refund is being processed & will take approximately 4 days. This has been going on for over 6 weeks now & my credit card company still has not received a credit/refund from this company.

I do not work for nor am I connected in any way except to order from this conmpany. I to ordered a hairmade in january of 2004 for my wife. In march they deducted my payment. The company explains before you buy it that there orders are behind several weeks because of the popularity with disabled. They are a small company and because of the overwellming demand, can't return all the requests for info on orders in a timely manner. After a loooong wait I received my hairmade yesterday april 14, 2004. I'm sure this lady received hers by now but didn't bother with a retraction. My wife is COMPLETELY satisfied with this product and every person who has a disability could use and should have this invaluable product. It was worth the loooong wait. Expect a looong wait if you order from hairmade but they didn't rip me. Hope this helps incase you wanted to order from the company.
