Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

For a trip to Hawaii my wife ordered a dinner cruise and a glass bottom boat trip that same night she realized she had ordered them for the wrong Island she searched 4 things in Oahu but the big island Hawaii came up and that's where she ended up ordering even though it was an honest mistake Groupon said sorry no refunds. we realize that was almost $500 and it was a waste of money and Groupon would not even consider helping. they said maybe you can give the tickets to a friend. really is this what you think a friend is going to fly thousands of miles just to take a cruise.I researched it a little further and found that this is their mode of operation if someone can't go to or use a Groupon they refused to give any refund the merchants are held hostage because they only get the money from the Groupon if it is redeemed. if it is not redeemed the merchant gets nothing and Groupon gets all of the money this is one reason why they fight so hard not to give a refund.

When we talk to someone in customer service and they referred us to there administrator he just copied and pasted again and again all sales are final no refunds. we explained again and again this is wrong but he didn't care. Groupon has terrible customer service. I will never use Groupon again. We contacted her credit card company and ask them to cancel the Groupon charges. Later I contact the Groupon and told them that we explain to our credit card company the problem and that we would like the charges reversed we explained that we spend 10 to $15,000 a year on our credit card and they make 2% of this so that is about $300 sometimes we carry a balance and we are charged 15 or 16% and throughout the year they make probably another $300 off of us that's $600 and we've had this account for 10 years this is about $6,000. we plan on keeping it but if they can't deal with Groupon we probably won't keep it for another 10 years and they will lose this next $6,000 it's simple math. So for the $400 of charges from Groupon our credit card company would make about a dollars that's simple math$6,000 or $8 which would they prefer

So what you are really saying is that even though it was your  mistake, you expect everyone else to make exceptions to fix your mistake. Where you resort to blackmail by thretinging to never use them again if they don't do what you want.  Yes it is a form of blackmail when you threten them with financial harm if they do not do what you want.  Sure so sounds logical to me

By the way, bragging about spending 10K-15K/year as if that makes you some big spender to them is sadly laughable.  As what you are really saying is that you should be treated better than someone else who may only spend a few hundred dollars a year.  But the reality is that there are people that spend as much as you spend in a year, in a month or even a week.  Those are the real big spenders.  If you are saying that it shouldn't matter how much a person spends...then why did you bring it up...EXACTLY.

"So for the $400 of charges from Groupon our credit card company would make about a dollars that's simple math$6,000 or $8 which would they prefer"

Don't be shocked if they take the $8.  Because if they actually have no legal grounds to reverse the charge Groupon could come after them for the amount as well as additional damages.

Don't get me wrong, it would suck to lose that money but it was a mistake you made.  When you purchased it through Groupon  you agreed to all of the terms including no refunds. Yes they COULD refund it but they don't have to. Nothing in the Fraud Protection from your credit card covers "Whoops...we goofed". So again your Credit Card could refund it and they might.  If they do great..but if they don't it is not a RipOff.

One thing I may suggest, perhaps talk to Groupon and see if they will give you a credit toward future purchases on their site.
