I would like to address a rep I spoke with this morning regarding my hardship offer letter. I was calling to see if my paperwork was received and since I will be deployed at the end of the month if there was anything we could do in order to expedite the process. She immediately said no without checking or anything. Advised me that it would take 6-8 weeks and proceeded to go downhill from there. I must admit that I was a little ticked and had an attitude because there had to be someone she could ask to move my issue provided the circumstances.

I even told her that I asked for an extension on my deployment and it was denied. Then she started to state how she's not a lawyer but the home is simply a trailer not a house. They can have my parents put out. What am I going to do if I'm away and they come take it then? They can surrender the home and they can come get it. SO you can arrange for someone to come get it immediately before I leave but you can't expedite my hardship letter. If they file bankruptcy they'll still have to pay for the home. I'm not customer service so we can end this conversation right here, etc...

All I wanted was simply some empathy and for someone to at least TRY for the fact that I could no longer help my parents pay for their home. I was not asking for it for free but simply wanted to do a Hardship Payoff Offer. I sent all the information except one document and she proceeded to tell me that they couldn't start the process without it. I think she was very unfair and the treatment was definitely uncalled for seeing as I am fighting for HER and the country in which she resides. I feel like she didn't go the extra mile in order to do anything to assist me. She didn't even place me hold to find out from a supervisor or anything if there was a way to escalate the issue.

My parents have never been late and have paid for the this "trailer" for more than 20 years and have a small amount left. I've never handled anything like this and I advised of this. She talked to me like some random who hadn't been making payments and ducking and dodging collections call when I'm trying to make everyone happy. I will certainly be sending this email to the local news in hopes it reaches anyone who is as discussed at this entire ordeal as I am. I certainly hope everyone in the company is not like this. Sure its a 20 year old trailer that may not be a home to some because it was pre-built with crappy material and rolled out to their land on wheels, but its home to them! May I add that my parents have never missed a payment and I've been paying almost double the note for over 2 years.
