Well, Brian. You seem to be the typical mag kid. With such tough words and such piss poor grammar, spelling, punctuation, and attitude. I worked in the magazine "business" for almost 9 years. I managed 2 different crews, traveled across the country over 30 times, and saw plenty of WAB's come and go. Do you know why I am not invloved in that life anymore? Because things got just like the above story said they did. Managers have been crapping on agents since before your daddy was swimming in his daddy's sack. Kids DO get beat up, left stranded, not paid, abused, and taken advantage of. I should know. I have been on BOTH ends of it. Don't be so quick to jump up and defend people that you have no idea about what they are really like. The magazine business is very cut-throat. I found myself to be falling into the general "standard" of magcrew owners/managers. When you are being "trained"(for lack of a better term) to be a manager, the first thing they tell you is NEVER to care about your agents, because if you do, they will walk all over you. IF managers REALLY cared about their agents, the kids would get paid correctly and in full. They wouldn't call them weak asses or faggots in front of other agents. They wouldn't make these kids knock doors in the slums or knock after dark. Quota is not more important than human life. The only thing you showed by posting a response on this site was how utterly ignorant you are. You also showed how green you are. Nobody that has put any REAL time into the mag business, and isn't in it anymore, would defend it so quickly. You were obviously part of a crew that gave eachother reach-arounds during hop or something. Know when to pick your battles, and the next time you decide to enter a battle of whits, make sure to borrow a brain that works.

i got hired by Face to face, and it was easy, (face to face is one of the companys that have all those kids go up to your door and try and to have you buy those expensive magazines). well anyways, i got talked into it thru false promises of, free travel to my home, getting high all the time and loads of money. all lies, dont join it, you get $20 a day after working for about 12 hours, work in tornados, (personally had to do it) all kinds of weather, dont even think about being sick. i didint need any sort of I.D. i didint need anything, that was suspicious because i didint know anything about these scams and i knew that there was somthing weird because im promissed ruffly $300 a day and i didint need an ID??? wow how easy right "To good to be true" To all the consumers were always high or drunk, always, infact getting high is good because it makes us more enthusiastic and smily. No one wants a drunk man coming to there door, espesaly when we all have records and have spent a good time in jail. on my first day out i got some advice "you cant give a sh*t about anyone but your self, theres no other way to make it in this buissness" honistly, i cant believe anyone is stupid enough to buy a magazine that expensive, $61 for 1 magazine subscription, and you dont even get it. If you are that dumb that you dont notice a 25 year old man acting like a kid or to stupid to notice that the kid at your door is not only high, but completely gone mentally just stop reading this because you will never learn. not only that but to not buy expenisve stuff from a stranger.

dude you know nothing about the magazine buisness, and you just sound like a whiney little b***h. Cody payne is one of the biggest clearing houses in the buisness right now. People DO get their magazines, and not all the agents in the buisness are criminals. Now i do know there is alot of shady stuff done, and thats why sites like this exist, because alot of agents cheat and scam the customers...but if that order goes in the right way..everything is filled out corectly, they will get their magazines. Granted the customers pay about 300%more then what the clearing house gets it for... but remeber, this is a FOR-profit buisness. So just quit your whineing, dont tell ppl to call the cops.. because your just being a giant d****ebag...

I am a former employee of Great Lakes Ciculations, Inc. This is a general breakdown of the company, management, actions, and shady business practices. First off, if you have recently bought magazines from these little door to door scam artists, cancel your check IMMEDIATELY! You will never get them. There is no clearing house. It also is a common practice within the "organization", mainly by the upstanding, web-toed, dickless, poor excuse for a human being that Ashton Dukes is, to have the sales crew jump other agents for various reasons. Ashton is the b*****d stepchild of company owner Cody Payne. Ashton is a little boy that ws given a man's job, and didn't know how to handle the responsibility. He runs this "company" more like a gang than anything else. He hires pretty little girls from their hometowns, knocks them up, and then kicks them to the curb thousands of miles from their homes with no money or any of their personal belongings. I also heard through the grapevine that you, Mr. Dukes, had made death threats towards me. Don't make me laugh. You are suck a tough guy when you have 15 other guys around you. I suggest to you, the people of this great country, if you see magazine agents in your neighborhoods, male OR female, call the police immediately. Most of them are criminals, with felony warrants. They are trained and taught to take advantage of you. Do not let them succeed in their devious plans. Anyone else who is reading this that has worked for GLC Inc, and have been scorned by them, please, I urge you to also leave your stories and warnings.
