Granite State Dock and Marine Scott Buckland Took thousands of dollars in cash and gave me a broken boat then refused to talk to me! Derry New Hampshire
**THE OWNER IS AN ABSOLUTE SCUMBAG WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND GIVE YOU A BROKEN BOAT**LIES ABOUT CONDITION OF BOATS *WILL PRETEND TO FIX A BUNCH OF PROBLEMS AND CHARGE YOU FOR THEM THEN YOU FIND OUT LATER DOWN THE ROAD AFTER BOAT BLOWS UP HE DIDN’T DO ANY OF THE WORK HE CHARGED YOU FOR *TAKES ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO ARE NEW TO BOATING * EXTREMELY RUDE IF HE HAS YOU SIGN ANYTHING READ THOROUGHLY BC THE FINE PRINT ITSELF STATES THAT HES A LIAR AND NOT TO "RELY ON ANY ORAL REPRESENTATION” Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
I work 12 hours a day busting my a*s to save money for a boat. I found their ad for a boat they took on trade. According to them it was in mint condition and was an "absolute steal” at their asking price. I put a refundable deposit down over the phone because the previous boat I looked at was sold to someone else and a real bummer. After putting deposit down they were still trying to sell boat I have the screen shots of the thread to prove it. I get there on a Saturday and they go over it real quick with a bunch of lies about how it’s turn key ready and says he has a lot of interest in the boat and he’s closing and rushing me through the sale so he can get out. I give him the cash he hands me a key and a manual. I ask about a title and he says I don’t need one even though he knew I lived in mass. The trailer has been hooked up and his worker is supposed to have put temp plates on but didn’t and I drove home with no plates on the trailer bc he forgot.
I finally make time to go down to registry and they won’t let me do it without title so I have to make more time to get a title and drive all the way back then the next day I bring the title and still can’t reg bc the title is filled out incorrectly... Once again I have to drive back, finally after so many attempts I pay money to reg trailer and boat. When the weekend finally comes I go to take it out and is making all kinds of noise. I’m depressed they’re closed and I have to wait I have a friend look at it and tell me the prop is loose he tightens it up and says I should be good. Round two weekend comes along I put it in the water and it is still back firing making all kinds of noise and it won’t take off it will only work going super slow. I have a mechanic friend on the lake hop in and take it for a ride he says something is definitely wrong but maybe it’s just the carbs that need to be cleaned and that it will definitely need to be taken apart and cleaned to figure it out. I call the owner Scott and tell the issue. It’s 4th of July week and my only vacation time to use this boat I just spent thousands of dollars on and he says to me it was working fine and he doesn’t know what possibly could have happened to it after I bought it. He also says he’s booked out weeks in advance and can’t look at it. So now I’m stuck with a boat I put about THOUSANDS of dollars into plus registration, insurance, sales tax, and all the safety equipment (anchor, fire extinguisher, PFD, air horn, ropes, fenders ETC...) he also said he took it for a test run before trade which is an absolute lie bc he would have known about the noise it wasn’t something that happened between leaving the lot and being dropped in the water. I wasn’t rude I didn’t cuss even though I was upset. I said that I hope he doesn’t plan on charging me if I end up bringing it in he said he absolutely does plan on it and was completely rude about it then says he has a bunch of customers he’s dealing with and legit hangs up on me during mid conversation.
I tried calling back and was ignored I even messaged him and got no response yet it was read. Never been treated so poorly after giving someone so much cash I can’t believe how this guy sleeps at night knowing he rips off innocent people who work so hard and deserve a little bit of fun. Unbelievable!! I’m now paying another mechanic to do the work that he won’t!! Oh and the second I posted a negative review online he blew my phone up calling me names and threatening to sue me for hundreds of thousands dollars for defamation of character..... ya ok buddy so let me get this strait you’re going to sue me bc your character sucks hahaha ok good luck getting more money out of me!!! Maybe if you treated your customers right they wouldn’t have any complaints!!!
