Eric, I agree 100% that my son was wrong! However, You do not have enough info to state any critical remarks against my son or my parenting skills. I have 4 children, two older than my 15yo. At the time this occurred, my husband (then just engaged)and I were attending our 4th funeral in a 1 year time frame, beginning with my mother and ending with my older sister. So as you can imagine, my mind was just not "with it". This is not an excuse, just background. I was starting my own home business and had talked about going online at some point. My oldest son, age 24, was at home with my 15yo as they had school activities to attend. My oldest was also taking care of my closing online auctions which is why my paypal info was written down and left at the house. Now, before you attack my oldest, he is in his PHD year for chemistry, he also teaches classes at college, and has never given me reason to distrust him with any personal info. Neither had my 15yo until then. My 15yo did this as a surprise for me thinking he was helping with my business. This again is NOT an excuse, just info. His heart was in the right place, he just went about it the wrong way. He WAS punished, three months with no tv, video games, extra chores and the only time he could leave the house except for school was with MOM! And if you know anything about 15yo boys this was the ultimate punishment. My complaint with godaddy was that customer service was rude and nasty. I called within 24 hours and tried to cancel this account. I informed them they had taken money from a 15yo. While they all agreed that the account could be closed and the money refunded, nobody seemed to be able to do it. At that time I would have been happy with a partial refund on a closed account. I got nowhere and gave up in March. It was not until Nov of this year when I responded to another rip-off report about their customer service, that godaddy contacted ME and offered to resolve this matter. At this point I decided to start this thread so everyone could see the GOOD and bad side of their customer service. If you read through the reports you will see 99% is in FAVOR of godaddy, thanks to Jonathan Davis. He has been super and very helpful. If he follows through, that will be posted here and a POSITIVE report will have been made for godaddy. I have never said that godaddy services are bad, just their customer service. And at this point even I have to say that they are trying to resolve that part of their company. So, Yes, my son was wrong, I was wrong, even my 24yo old wrong. But so was godaddy when they would not work with me to resolve this. However, it looks like we have all learned a lesson and made mistakes that will be resolved and not repeated. I have closed all accounts associated with that CC and gotten new ones which my 15yo does not have access to. If this ever happens again, my 24yo will have the information in a private place. But as I stated, we have never had this problem prior and I cannot see it happening again, but I will not take a chance. Now, if you would like to continue to attack my family, have at it. Have a great day.

You stated your son signed up for their services. SO when did this become a rip-off when they didn't refund your money the very next day you found out your kid screwed you. It's amazing that you would even post something like this. I mean if you kid uses your credit card you think they are going to give you back the money?? HELLS NO, he got a product that he signed up for. OBVISOULY you can't trust your kid with pertinent information and I wouldn't blame a company for your mistake, yes your mistake for giving your kid enough info to hang himself with it. I work in the IT industry and have used Go Daddy for the last 4 years to purchase EVERY DOMAIN I've bought for my personal use and business. They are a quality company with good deals. Hell they even have web hosting now and if the company I use ever pulls a price increase I will be taking ALL of my web traffic business to Go Daddy. Stop blaming this company for your mistake and proper HOME TRAINING and your kid won't pull anymore crap like he has already and put you in the hole! LATA

From : Office of the President-Go Daddy Software Inc. Sent : Tuesday, December 6, 2005 1:44 AM To : Laurie ect : RE: ripoff report | | | Inbox Dear Laurie, Thank you for your e-mail. Our system is setup to refund the original payment method. This is a common practice that many businesses use. We have been in discussion with our Fraud Department, since they deal with PayPal on a regular basis reversing charges due to suspected fraud, and also PayPal directly to see which way would be the easiest to refund you. From our investigation, according to PayPal we can refund the charge like normal and the money would be either a) credited back to your credit card account or b) credited directly to PayPal in which they would require you to complete numerous form to claim your money back from them. These options are based on how your account was setup, and what funding source you used. Furthermore, we have drawn up the paperwork requesting a check be made payable to yourself in full, as agreed to on the phone, and waiting on the paperwork to be signed by the necessary parties. We have been working as diligently as possible to resolve this issue in a timely manner from the first time our office contacted you. We do apologize for any trouble you might experience while we do everything in our power to attempt to reverse the charges that you son made on your behalf as a mistake. If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know. Kindest regards, Jonathan Davis Office of the President [email protected] GoDaddy.com 14455 N. Hayden Rd.
