Complaint Review: Global Mail Marketing - Peyton Enterprises / GMM - Knoxville Tennessee

The owner of Peyton Enterprises / Global Mail Marketing is Payton Howard Abernathy, born 12/12/78, Social Security Number 409-37-1695.

Payton has two separate web sites for his scheme: http://www.makemoneystuffing.com and http://www.easyprofitsonline.com Within the last month or so, he has taken easyprofitsonline offline (He was working on the site and never quite got it finished. Payton appeared to be copying source code from http://www.postalmarketing.com, a site owned by Jason D Gould, DBA/ Advanced International Marketing, 1358 Hooper Ave. PMB 229, Tombs River, NJ, 08753. All the wording, links and other information was just about identical).

Payton Abernathy originally filed a fictitious business statement with the Knox County Business License Department, under the name Peyton Enterprises, but the license expired May 31, 2000. The license shows a business address of 3613 Western Ave, Knoxville, TN 37921, which is actually a small floral shop that also offers mailbox services. Payton and his wife, Charity Mize, own the home he listed on the license application, 1609 Romulus Lane, Knoxville, TN 37932. It appears they are renting this home out at present.

For his business advertisements, Payton had been using the telephone number (865) 769-5115, which comes back to Les H and Bonnie Abernathy, 7019 Sage Lane, Knoxville, TN 37921. Les Abernathy lists a business called Market America at3813 Western Ave, #155, Knoxville, TN 37921.

At some point, Payton began using a Sprint PCS phone for his web advertisements, (865) 300-4317. He never answers this phone and the message identifies the names Payton and Charity. His mailbox is constantly full, and when a message can be left, no one ever calls back. He is using the fax number (865) 938-3824 as well.

Payton subsequently began using the business address: 2911 Tazewell Pike #243, Knoxville, TN 37918, which is a Mail Boxes Etc. (also The UPS Store).

Within the past few months, Payton has begun using another name/address on his web advertisements for makemoneystuffing.com: GMM, Box 254, Heiskell, TN 37754-0143.

There are web postings in dozens of places for his stuffing schemes. He went on a spamming spree on Yahoo Groups some months back as well. No telling how many people have responded to his ads.

Payton is a computer geek and as of October 27, 2001, public records at the US District Bankruptcy Court (Chapter 13 - Case# 135789) in Knoxville listed his occupation as technical support with Client Logic, Oak Ridge, TN. His self-employment information shows Payton Enterprises was opened in October 1997 and is an online resale business. Payton lists himself as President.

Payton Abernathy's real address is 369 Windstone Blvd., Powell, TN 3784. Another individual owns the home, valued at $256k. So it would appear that Payton and Charity are renting it. At one point, public records show Charity was working part time at a local day care center, but with two small children, she is now listing herself as a stay home mother.

In late September 2003, Payton obtained a new business license in Knox County, TN under the name PC Enterprises, with a business address at 234 Morrell Ave, Knoxville, TN (another Mail Boxes, Etc.). He used the 1609 Romulus Lane, Knoxville, TN 37931 for his home address. He listed the business as a retail operation.

I located a website http://www.pcenterpise.net that is operating out of Knoxville, TN. The registered owner of the website is a Pat Cannon. I have yet to find a direct link between this company and Payton Abernathy, but it seems all too coincidental. Payton's work involves network systems and this is exactly what this company does.

Payton can be found on Yahoo under the nickname PaytonTN There is a picture of him as well. Charity goes by the nickname Alwayz2be on yahoo and elsewhere.

Payton owns a silver 2000 Honda SUV, Tennessee license# BTT 858, which is a leased vehicle through American Honda Finance. A second vehicle, a green Honda Civic is also leased through the same company. They have installed a different license plate on the vehicle, Tennessee license# MDM 724, which comes back to Payton's parents and should be on a 1999 BMW. I don't know what to make of the license plate discrepancies. But typically, when someone puts a phony plate on a vehicle, they are trying to hide the vehicle from the repo man or avoid paying registration fees. The vehicle registration fees in Knox County are $30 regardless of the value of the vehicle, so go figure.

I hope this information is helpful to those who have been cheated by this scam artist. As I get more information, I will post it for your consumption.
