Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Since they have already filed for bankruptcy and have protection from certain lawsuits (I am speaking to attorneys to get confirmation on this), maybe the only thing we can do is get our state's involvement. Maybe we may not be able to go after the corporation, but can file claims/lawsuits against the owners and the legal representation assisting them in their business.

In order to work with your creditors, an attorney had to be working with Gibson to draft up the contracts with us and our creditors. The first attorney I have in my files (from an account statement) was Michael J. Mella, but I did some searching and only found an attorney by this name practicing in NY, but had passed away (about the same time his name stopped appearing on my statements from Gibson). The next and last attorney listed is Dashia N Trowers. I checked with the Florida Bar Association and Dashia is still practicing in Florida.

Does anyone know the deadline for filing a claim with the Florida State Attorney General's Office? I do not want to file a claim with them or the bankruptcy court until I have retained legal representation. You do NOT want to give away any of your rights prematurely!

I also have found a wonderful firm in Houston, Texas that will not only reduce my debts, but work on fixing my credit. They are called Debt Resolution of Texas. I would like to pass on this information to other Texans that are previous Gibson Trust customers. This company does not allow you to pay them money to be paid to your creditors (because they said they would not trust any company asking you to use them to move your money), they renegotiate your total debt and terms of payment (based on the fact that your creditors have most likely already gotten their money back from you plus interest and would be lucky to get anything at all if you are forced to file for bankruptcy and they probably have probably broken some Federal laws in the process which may require alot for their attorneys fees).

We have been able to determine through helpful tips from our readers that an investigator has been identified in the Florida AG's Office, Shana Shakoff, 954-712-4600 ext. 4742.

If you have specific information about the continuation of unprincipled business practices, please be sure to post them on this website also, as several law enforcement agencies are involved in the investigation of this business.

Also, I have been contacted by an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney dealing with this case, Marta Moakley, 110 S.E. 6th St., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

Be very careful of debt settlement (negotiation) companies, they hardley ever work. You will pay taxes on the settled amount to the IRS, your credit report will read uncollected funds, and your creditors will not be paid for years( you risk being sued), so what are you paying these companies for? Just be careful, do your research.
