They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report: Their email: [email protected] Their name: Pele Their relationship to the company: Supporter Rebuttal: Welcome to the club, my friend. I once had a Grand Am myself. A '96 actually. A beautiful car and it ran like a dream...when it ran at all. I had that car for just over a year and had to replace the radiator once and the alternator 3 times. Normally an alternator wouldn't be such a big deal, but apparently I had one of the few cars (according to my mechanic, who I'd trust with my life - K&M Automotive in Kennesaw, Ga for those of you interested) that GM had produced with this particular engine in it so all parts were dealer parts. 280.00 for the alternator alone, and yes, I did check EVERYWHERE to see if I could get it cheaper. My mechanic told me that I could expect to replace the alternator about every 6 months and that there were a whole slew of other problems I could expect with the car. Needless to say I got rid of the car soon after that. I hope you're not locked into any payments because the car most likely belongs in a junkyard. I know some satisfied Pontiac owners, but not many. My mother used to own a Pontiac mini-van and had to have the entire transmission replaced twice. I will NEVER buy another GM product again.
