I purchased a new GE Washer and Dryer January 29th, 2004. I had to put in a service calls 30 days from this time to GE. They came out to look at, ordered new parts, waited for 3-4 weeks for parts to come in, tech came back out put in parts.

Week later same issues with both appliances. During that time - the techs seemed to imply that I didn't know how to do laundry, one stating "well she might be putting too much soap in" one said "read the owners manual" and another saying my "loads might be too big". Really? As far as I remember, I knew how to wash and dry my clothes.

So then I called back to the CSR rep (Ms. Williams). She was not professional and apparently was the person in charge- nice quality! So I then contacted Corporate (Gary Mantouth). He wanted the tech to come back out. They came out and said the transmission in the washer was bad but the dryer looked OK even though my clothes were damp at times.

So I called back to Corporate and after speaking with the arrogant Gary- he assured me that I was "lucky" that he was replacing the washer (but not the dryer) b/c the transmission was hard to fix. Obviously to their benefit, it would be easier for them to replace then fix this big of a problem.

I do not want the GE appliances I have now and they refuse to do anything about it. I will NEVER buy a GE product again and I recommend to others to not buy their products either.
