I purchased an impeller washer in November of 2010.  In June of 2011 the machine was returned to Home Depot for a rebate exchange because the machine was leaving residue on my clothing.  The Home Deport salesman assured me the if I purchased the GE front loader machine (model #GFWN1100L1WW, seral #FV2067197) that I would have the Cadillac of washers.  Note I had to purchase another GE because, GE gave me a check for a new washer, where I had to make up the difference for the purchase of the new washer.  Less than six months later, the front loader had to be repaired, because it had stopped spinning.  This repair was under warranty.  In August of 2013, two months out of warranty, the machine's motor died.  GE genreously offered to fix the machine and extend the warranty for free.  I felt that this machine was worthless and should have been replaced.  Since when do your purchase a major appliance and not get at least five years of service on a major part or repair.  Like I told GE, it was like my purchasing a car and the engine died before the tires wore out.  GE refused to replace the machine.  The customer care rep lied and stated that he had offered me another rebate exhange when he didn't.  The corporte office ignored my letters of complaint and when I finally agreed to let them repair the machine, I discovered that it was all plastic inside with a big brick sitting on top of the drum holding it together.

GE is a bogus company that shouldn't be in the applicance business.  Their scheme is to sell extended warranties because they know that their products are worthless.  A washer is not an appliance that should have to be purchsed on a yearly basis.  When I did talk to another rep at GE who did offer me a rebate exchange, with my out of pocket cost of $414 and a corporate rep offered me a discounted refund with an out of pocket cost of $240.  I told them that I wouldn't pay them another dime of my hard earn money and I would never ever purchase another GE product, not even a light bulb becasue they are a bunch of crooks. American's beware, do not purchased an appliance from GE, all sales are final and the merchandise is worthless.
