Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I have been a Geico customer for several years. Recently, I recieved the intent to renew letter, and associated forms. I filled out the forms and mailed them in. I then recieved a letter stating they would terminate my policy on 10-30-05 for "failure to submit a vehicle modification form"

I had previously sent this form in, but I called them got the name of a rep who said they never recieved it. She said there is no problem as long as we get the form by the 30th. I then mailed 2 copies of the form, and faxed 2 copies to the attention of the rep I spoke with. I called her to donfirm she recieved them, which she acknowledged. She stated "Ok, everything is good". I asked her if my policy would continue as normal now, to which she replied "Oh yes, if there is anything else we need, we'll let you know, but your good to go".

It is Nov 28th, and I haven't seen a new card.... I call, they tell me "Your policy was cancelled on the 30th due to failure to provide the modification form". After a explaining the situation, the rep states "Oh yes, I see the form here, but we can't re-instate your policy until I check with underwriting, which could be a few days".

I am livid, as I met all the requirements they set. The rep said to me "well, maybe there is something else we cancelled you for" (no accidents or tickets in years). I asked shouldn't I be notified if I am to be cancelled?? To which she responded "Well, you have the original letter saying we would cancel you because you didn't turn in the form...." Now considiering I did turn it in, recieved an acknowledgement it was recieved, and was told everything is fine by their rep, do you think they would have the courtesy to even let me know if they were cancelling me for "other reasons"???? I had to call them to find out why I hadn't gotten a new card to find out it had even been cancelled!

97% Customer satisfaction is a joke, I would love to see who, and how they conduct that survey. Do I have any recourse in this? Is there an official governing body for insurance providers I can complain too?

All states have insurance regulation councils/commissions, but they are not well funded & don't have much say in anything that a company does. Big Insurance does what it wants whenever it wants. Our elected (bribed) pols see to that.
