you folks miss the point, what is illegal and imoral is the insurance co ability to do whatever it takes to total the vehicle. I just had this happen to me with a co called ussa and i am sure the people at geico are near the mf 's that these people are. their client hit me was at fault and no matter my truck was in great running order, they found every thing on the sheet metal they could to deem it a total, then find the lowest value for the truck and the highest for the salvage value. For a 1700 dollar repair they end up paying only 300 dollars and I get a truck with a salvaged title and a huge dent in it. USSA burn in hell.

jan jan jan. tisk tisk. didnt your mother tell you that lying is well..BULLCRAP. i checked that claim too. seems you did not tell the truth. and having a friend or maybe even yourself post on here pretending to be with the ins company is so funny. NO FAULT is your MEDICAL COVERAGES!! everone who works for the insurance industry knows that. no fault means...reguardless of who is at fault your automobile coverages will cover your injury while you are in your vehicle or a passenger in another vehicle or struck by a vehicle while on a bicycle or as a pedistrian. THAT s what NO FAULT STATE MEANS. SHEESH if you are gonna lie at least make your lies based on facts

To the previous responce, you are incorrect! An at fault accident in a no fault state doesnt mean you are not responsable. No fault states just means that there is coverage on your policy that pays for your medical coverage before the other persons does, hence the no fault coverage.

The two rebuttles file on this were done by proxy of company employee's. I looked into it since I also work for GEICO. The no vin# was total BS, and her son was in a NO FAULT accident State- hence; he can not be held lieable. Check the facts and hope that an honest employee does not see your name and follow your isp address to your GEICO computer.

dear Jan Sounds like your not being truthful. What about the police report? If your son rear ended someone, thats not looking very good. You say pay off was 6120.00 sounds about right. Any time someone gets rear ended... following to close sure comes to mind. I do hope everything works out for you. remember speed kills, drive safely...

Consumers need to know the whole story! I read some of the notes on this policy. Jan is not being truthful or her son has not been truthful with her. Let me start off with telling everyone that Jan's son has only been with GEICO for 4 months and there is refrence to the vin plate missing from this vehicle. Automatic suspicion! First, of all her son rearended the claimant's vehicle. Maybe the claimant was making a u-turn, but it was also your son's responsiblity to "maintain a proper lookout" and according to the claimant, she was established in her lane & up to 15 miles per hour when your son struck her car. Second, you said your son only had the rental for one week? Try 13 days. Also you said your son only had the rental for 2 days after being advised of the total loss decision? Records show your son was advised on 11/10/04 & had the rental thru 11/15/04. I am not familiar with the specifics of rental coverage, but taking rental away simply because the Supervisor is "angry" would be illegal I would think. GEICO has not been in business for 63 years by engaging in illegal practices. Third, I think you got a fair settlement for that "old" 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE w/ripped leather seats (yes I saw the pictures too, $10,000.00 car??? what a joke). If you are considering the customizations in the value please note that your son did not advise us at the time of sale of any customizations (tires, stereo, etc) and was not paying the additional premium for these customizations. Fourth, GEICO appraisers and auto salvage employees are NOT paid commissions on how much money they save the company when doing their damage appraisals. This is laughable as I am sure it would be illegal and at very least, really bad business. How can consumers believe you Jan, if you only tell half truths? We are one of the "high end insurance companies" you refer to in your rants and we do pay "set salaries". The 97% customer satisfaction is also the truth, not a lie! GEICO is rated A++(superior) by AM Best. With 6 million policyholders we must be doing something right!!! The one thing I will tell you is that if the claimant turns out to be at fault and has no insurance I would continue to request that the claim be reviewd for a refund of the collision deductible due to "uninsured motorist coverage". If you can not get anywhere with that office in TX, I would contact the 1-800 #.
