I purchased a Hewlett Packard PC with the 3 yr extended warranty by GE-Zurich at a cost of $319.00

On 11-23-00 I called Zurich to file a claim on the monitor which went out. I was told by them through the course of a 2.5 hr phone call that I would "recieve a new monitor within 3-5 business days" (11-30-01) per the contractual provisions.

I have been on the phone with them for a total of 3.5 hrs today alone (11-30-01) and have spoken with 5 different reps who have all given me a different story and attempted to invoke different contractual stipulations to the agreement.

They have told me that the new monitor shipped today (while I was on the phone with them). According to Fed-Ex, the tracking number they gave is bogus. Fed-Ex went on to investigate my shipment and have no record of "Any shipment" to my address.

They have reffered me back to the seller citing that they are not bound by the provisions of any extended warranty that a retailer sells on their behalf and go on to say that "Store X sold me the GE-Zurich warranty therefor it is the stores responsibility to work something out."

I would strongly urge any consumer to check with their retailer and if the extended warranty is through GE-Zurich DO NOT PURCHASE the item from that retailer, find another one.
