April 2006, I opened a CareCredit account credit card at the dentists office when my husband had to have dental work done. Account was opened with a $3,000 balance and a $3,000 credit limit. Since then, I’ve paid $108 a month, never been late. It comes out of my checking account every month and I don’t see a statement, or anything. They don’t send them. I’m sitting here one night and I get the text from my bank that the $108 from Synchrony comes out for the credit card and I get to thinking, gosh how much longer am I going to be paying this off.

Interest is probably around $80 a month so I should be chipping off at the tiniest bit of principal after a while, right? Wrong. I go to CareCredit’s website and sign up for an online account to see my banking statements. I look at my balance and had I been standing, I would’ve been swept off my feet. I owed more now than I did when I opened the account! In a rage, I go into my online transaction records and online statements to find out what was going on. Since the beginning of me having this credit card, the card gets charged $70 a month for interest, and then $56 each month with a charge only listed as "ACCT SECURITY ‭1-866-846-6991‬” I had no clue that this $56 charge had been coming out!

I never agreed to this charge and I never would have. I never use the card for anything. Over 10 years, I’m further back than where I started. Unbeknownst to me that I had never been paying any principal from the beginning. I was going backwards and had never been told. Not knowing what the charge was, I tried calling the phone number and the automated system asked me to provide information just for it to tell me that it never had record of me having an account.

Since that was no help, I decided to google search the telephone number to which all that came up was fraudulent reports and complaints. Is there any way to be reimbursed since I had no clue? I would sue but I don’t have the money for that. Especially considering I’m in debt because of this fraudulent company.
