On April 30, 2005, I purchased from an HH Gregg store located in Indianapolis, Indiana a Whirlpool Duet Dryer with Pedestal, delivery, and tax for $1,132.07. I took advantage of a deferred interest promotion the store was running at that time, i.e. interest deferred until November 10, 2006. To be eligible for the deferred interest promotion, I was required to complete an application for financing, which it turns out was with GE Money Bank. I completed the application correctly and gave all current and accurate information. I did not receive any payment information from GE Money Bank after the transaction was completed on April 30, 2005 until I received a collection call at my work on June 16, 2005 stating I was delinquent on a payment. After several calls to your customer service area and your collections area, it came to light that GE Money Bank had sent all the billing statements at that time, i.e. May and June to the incorrect or wrong address. It was claimed in conversations with a GE Money Bank collections supervisor that GE Money Bank had used an old address from a previous account to sent the billing statements to. I find it difficult to understand how GE Money Bank could not have had the correct information since I gave my current address on the application and the collections department called me at my current work phone which was not part of the information from my previous account but was listed on the new application information.

After I finally got the billing mix-up which GE Money Bank clearly created cleaned up,I made a payment of $300.00 in August and a payment of $832.07 in September. Both payments totaled $1,132.07 or the original amount I owed on the account. And, GE Money BAnk indicated on their records that both payments were credited to my account. Therefore, in September, GE Money Bank should have indicated my account as paid-in-full. But no, GE Money Bank then started to send me billings for Charge Gard Insurance which I never requested or indicated in writing that I wanted to receive. I contacted them again and got those chagres eliminated in December. However, in January I got another bill for a finance charge of $91.92. Please note I had paid the full amount on the deffered nterest account in September 2005. I sent a letter to the Billing Errors Department of GE Money Bank as indicated on the back of the billing information explaining the situation on January 11, 2006. I continue to recieve bills (February and March) for increasing amounts with no response from the company with the exception of a computer generated letter telling me they will research my problem. That was received by me on January 16th.

I beleive GE Monay Bank has violated the Fair Credit Billing Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act. They need to report my account paid-in-full, delete all charges pending, delete any deligencies reported to the credit bureaus, close my account in good standing, and send me a letter indicating all fo the above as well as an apology.
