Over three years ago my husband and I open an account with GE Capital Cons through Best Buy. During this time we used the card the first year, and after that we stopped using it because we wanted to pay them in full and decrease our liabilities.
However it doesn't seem that we can manage to accomplish this goal with GE Capital. We have always paid our bills promptly (at least 7 to 10 days before due date) but the credit is not posted to our account on time, and therefore a $29 dollar late charged is applied to our account.
GE doesn't offer the option of paying online or even accessing your account online, this is consider very unusal to me consider the advanced technology stage we have moved into. I have tried to pay my bill over the phone but they claim they can only take one payment over the phone within a twelve month time frame (weird).
When my husband and I consider paying them off our account was arround $750.00 now it has exceed to a balance of over $1000. They are always calling my home about a payment, and I tell them it has been mailed and should have already arrived. They are very nasty when they call talking down to me about how I need to make sure my bills are paid on time.
My husband and I attempted to pay them in full, and ask if they give us a discount toward the balance as most credit card companies will give you at least a 15% discount, but they wouldn't even discuss this with me because they stated that my account was up to date. I ask how this was possible since they were always calling me at least every other month, and the man was unable to explain this question to me.
I am long since at my wits end with GE Capital and am unsure what I should do about them, if anyone has an idea, I am all ears.

Hi All: I have heard back from the Kentucky Attorney General. He has said that there is not a lot he can do since the company is based out of Ohio. So I went to the Ohio Attorney General to get this rip off company taken care of. Also I heard back from the BBB and they sent me a copy of the response that they had sent to the BBB. The response was one big fat joke if I had ever seen one. All they were tring to do was keep me quiet and happy. I dont think so. The BBB gives you the option to stay with what they said or have them keep fighing for you. I have typed up a almost one page letter answer most of their lieing responses. They wanted me to sign up for their automatic withdrawl for each month bill. I dont think so since I already have it. So everyone lets get together and send letters to the Kentucky Attorney General since my complint will be on file for five years and lets email, write the Ohio Attorney General. The Ohio Attorney Generals address is: www.ag.state.oh.us When you enter the website you can file a complaint on the website. So lets all band together and write to who ever will listen to us and take this company down. I am not only doing this me, but for all of you. It will take every single one of us to get this companies act together.

Hi all: Here is another update. I have done some reacher and I cant figure this one out. If someone can let me know. I got a copy of a check I sent back in September before I whiched over to bill pay. The personal check was cashed 4 DAYS AFTER IT WAS WRITTEN!!!!!!!! But since I do bill pay, it take 3 to 4 weeks for it to be cashed and it goes to Dayton, Oh where my personal checked looked like it went to Lousiville. Whats worng with that picture

Hi Again: My letter to the Kentucky Attorney General got there on Monday April 7th and I mailed it Saturday the 5th. So if you are going to send a letter to the Kentucky Attorney General do what I did go certified mail and i got a return receipt. Last night I emailed the Better Business Bureau. They said they were going to forward my email to the Cincinnati office. So if you want to go that route like I did here is the address and a phone number: Cincinnati BBB 898 Walnut Street Cincinnati, OH 45202- 2097 (513) 421-3015 So if enough people read this and my complaint which is under Best Buy hopefully something will be done to stop them for charging late fees when payments are on time. Hear is a good idea. I saw this in one of the other complaints against the big rip off company. I sent a email to my state Attorney General (Indiana) and I got a response back saying I could file a complaint against them here in Indiana so I did that and I got on Yahoo and got the Kentucky Attorney General address and sent him a letter it only cost me 4.00 dollars to do it certified mail and to get a card mailed back to me saying they got my letter. With that letter I made sure I put attn: Ben Chandler on it so it would get to him and not anyone else in his office (I hope it will reach his desk and not anyone elses) or you can fax it to him. I also emailed the United States Attorney General. I just got on Yahoo and typed in United States Attorney General and it took me right to his website. Here is the address and fax number for the Kentucky Attorney General: Office of the Attorney General The Capitol, Suite 118 700 Capitol Avenue Frankfort, Kentucky 40601-3449 The fax number is: (502) 564-2894 I went as high as I could to get this company taken care of. I figure if you and everyone that has a complaint does what I did someone will listen and they will get what is comming to them. I say "DOWN WITH GE CAPITAL CONS CARDCO THE RIP OFF CARD COMPANY OF LATE FEES" I hope this will help you.
