Gateway Energy Services Gateway Energy Supply Charge Scam/Rip-Off Forty Fort Pennsylvania
I signed up for electric supply services thru. Gateway Energy on 7/11/2011 at a fixed rate of 9 cents per kilo-watt hour of electricity thru. Atlantic Electric here in New Jersey. Because my bill was unusually high for the month of Feb. 2015, I starrted to investigate.
My findings was quick and painful!! I was being billed at a rate of almost 15 cents per kil0-watt hour and after calling Gateway customer service to confirm, I was informed that I had been placed on a varible rate 18 months after I signed up and that the 15 cents was the current market rate for this service.
I immediately canceled my service with them and now must go thru. the painful calculation of how much money I have lost as a result of this scam!! I believe I have a contract stating the fixed rate and definitely I did not receive any communication from Gateway making me aware of the rate change.
If anyone out there read this, please go to your Electric Company( Atlantic Electric in my case) billing and verify your Gateway delivery rate.
I am hopeful that this Scam get enough attention so that legal action can be taken against this company.
