This company called, reported to me that I had been approved for a Visa with the credit limit of 2,500 and there was one time payment of $221.95. The lady also reported to me that i would receive a gas, grocery cert. for so much money for free with the card. I didn't think anything of it at the time due to the fact that I just had applied for a Visa card over the internet, so I thought it was the company calling to verify everything. Please let me know how I go about maybe see my money back. Thank you.

Nobody Helping

I have learned my lesson, This Freedom Resource took my 221.95 and ran or so I thought. They took that money out on the 16th of June here it is on the 14th of Aug and still no card, but now I have another amount taking out by them for $49.95 I have called my bank and called. They will not close my account due to the fact of them telling me that this company could still get my account number through my social sercurity number. I'm very pissed off, because it seems like nobody wants to help. I have even called VISA directly and spoke with a manager they are no help just tell me to call the Credit Fraud people. I don't have any clue has to what to do b/c if I close the account and move to another bank what are the chances of them getting my account number. Pissed off and lost in Virginia.

Thank you for your help, I have already called the bank they can't do anything since I agreed to it, but I have changed the Account. Thank you for telling me about Credit Card companies and how they send mail, I will always remember that. Everyone learns from there own mistakes. Thanks.

#4Consumer Suggestion

Go to your bank and fill out an ACH (Automated Clearing House) fraud complaint form. Give a detailed description of the fraud. If Freedom Resource debited your account in less than 30 (60) days ago, you can get back your money. It is important, you cannot do this over the phone. I would recommend you to change your account number, to prevent that this company under a different name charge you again. For the future: hang up the phone if ANYBODY offer financial services. (Loan, credit repair, credit card.) Request the info in mail. If you get a mail, check the company/offer on Net. Or come to this site, fill a report. If you cannot find anything, be very suspicious, legit companies do not hide. Something else: legit companies NEVER call you to verify antyhing, or to tell you that you are approved. They send a MAIL to you, with the terms, the offered credit line etc.
