Freedom Resource Lennox Capital consumer fraud ripoff Woodstock Georgia
I got a call from a Mr. Chase Jeffers (sales assos #451) who said he was responding to my inquiryb about Freedom Resources credit card services. I didn't remember any such inquiry, but they come across all the time on the internet so I listened. He offered an unsecured credit card w/ no fees, no interest for the life of the card, a $2500 limit, and various discounts & weekend get-aways. The only catch was I would have to pay $221.95 up front from my own funds.
Now, experience has taught me that legitimate companies will put fees on you credit card so they can charge interest on outstanding balances. This is when my red flags began to soar. I asked for a phone # to call back & verify that they were a legitimate company. Mr. Jeffers told me that wasn't possible, but I insisted and he handed me to a supervisor, Gary Sanderson, who asked if I'd been mistreated in some way.
I said, no, I just needed to verify their legitimacy prior to okaying a fund transfer from my checking account. I'm sure he figured I'd just call back, but after checking it out on-line, low and behold a legitimate SCAM. I called them & told them to immediately lose my # (which I refused to repeat for "Patrick" the "verification officer") & never call me again. REMEMBER: If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
