Franklin Aviation Acadamy Aka Decker School Of Aeronautics rip-off! False claims about program and wouldn't refund money. Cincinnati Ohio
Company claimed to train for Professional Pilot Program in one year. We took out a student loan to pay for the program ($40,000) which the school required all up-front. After nine months, my husband was not even through the first part of the training (of which there are 5-6 parts)due to constantly changing instructors that kept cancelling scheduled flying lessons. All of this was extremely frustrating.
Finally, we bit the bullet and he withdrew knowing we would not get all of the money back due. But there refund polict states all monies due back would be processed within 30 days. They admitted they owed us over $13,000 for a refund. 18 months later we have not seen a dime, not has our student loan been credited. We have obtained legal counsel and filed a suit. They agreed to the settlement, but again when it came time to pay up, Nothing.
It's also worthwhile to note that this past summer their membership to the local BBB was canceled due to the company's unresponsiveness in dealing with 2 complaints. If your interested in a flight school, don't use Franklin Aviation Acadamy, who just changed their name to Decker School of Aeronautics. Also be wary of any claims that say you can be a professional pilot in less than two years. Just the flying hours required by FAA make this impossible.
