I got a credit card back in June of 2006. Finances got bad as they do with many people, so i fell behind on my payments. Yesterday i received a letter from FMS Services notifying me that my original account held by First Premier Bank was purchased by Arrow Financial Services (FMS Services) and who knows how many other bogus aliases.

I was given three repayment options according to the letter. I opted for the one that would allow me to make monthly installments until the balance reached 0. I called to set all this up and started getting suspicious when the girl on the phone said that they would provide me with a credit card that would have the balance of my debt transferred to it. So i asked her why they would give me another credit card to pay off a credit card that was in collections. That didn't sound good for me because i didn't want to get in trouble with another credit card. She gave me a song and dance about building up my credit by making my payments on time so for a split second i bought her explanation.

Then she started asking me questions that she as a "LEGITAMATE COMPANY" should have already had the answers to. Like what were the first five digits of my social security number. Then she asked for my checking account information. As i am talking to her i am on RIPOFFREPORT.COM looking the company name up because at this point i am frustrated and very suspicious. I stopped short of giving her any information and told her that i did not want to continue the call and i have decided to call the original creditor directly to see just who has my account.

I hung up and called First Premier Bank they told me that not only was that letter bogus, but the amount that they stated in the letter that i owed was different by $148+ more than i actually owed them. My account was with a totally different collections company and First Premier Bank was able at that point to supply me with the name and number to the agency that held my account.

This is for anyone who has received any collections letters, or calls from FMS Services. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THEM. DO YOUR RESEARCH ON ANY COLLECTION COMPANY YOU ARE DEALLING WITH. PLEASE CALL THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR AND ASK THEM FOR THE NAME, ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBERS OF THE COMPANY THAT HOLDS YOUR DEBT ACCOUNTS. THIS WILL BE IN YOUR BEST INTEREST BECAUSE IF YOU PAY OFF THE ACCOUNT TO A BOGAS COLLECTIONS COMPANY, YOU WILL NOT ONLY STILL BE IN DEBT TO THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR, BUT YOU WILL HAVE ALSO BEEN RIPPED OFF FOR WHATEVER YOU PAY TO THESE ***KERS.
