I worked for Florilli for about 6 months. In that time I had constant paycheck errors and was never able to have hometime when it was promised.

After a month leave for a family illness I returned to Florilli and advised them of hometime I needed for a court hearing involving child custody. When I was due to go home I had to fight with Florilli to get home.

I have to add that I told them I had to be there for court and if they couldn't get me home I had to dead head myself home. I was told that if I did my truck would be reported stolen. After arguing I got home.

When I got home I found that my fiance's house had no water. I called to advise Mike that I needed to remain at home until I had the water fixed. (2 of my children live there as well and one is a baby) I was dispatched on a load anyway. When I called again to tell them I was unable to pick up the load I was told that their load was more important than my water problem. Needless to say I could not leave her and my children with no water so I did not go for the load.

Then next day I got repeated threatening messages on the answering machine that I would be fired if I did not pick up the load and my work record would be ruined. Since I have been fired I cannot legally drive their truck so it sits in my fiance's yard waiting for them to pick it up. A vehicle is not abandoned when they have fired you and you have given them the exact address of the truck!

They kept my last paycheck and only paid me half of what I should have been the week before. Needless to say I gave them 7 days to retrieve their truck or my fiance will begin charging storage fees. I may just be a "dumb truck driver" but she had a degree in criminal justice and many lawyers and law officers in her family as well as a brother that is a warehouse manager for one of their major accounts and we are prepared to fight them.

Don't let "Big Companies" push you around! Use the law against them and don't let them threaten you with their twisted version of the law!

Florilli is a good company!

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

I worked for Florilli between 1997 and 2000. Everybody there were good, caring, experienced, professional people, and very easy to work with. Brad Jones was the best dispatcher I ever had. Mike McGuire is a competent safety director, and an honest man who cares about the drivers. Also, I never had any problems with my paychecks: the payroll department was the best! Florilli was the first company I worked for after graduating from a driving school, and thanks to competent people working there I learned to be a competent truck driver. This enabled me to be very successfull at the companies for whom I worked later. Florilli doesn't demand anything unreasonable: they only request that drivers follow through with their duties and work with the company, not against it. I was always available for dispatch, delivered loads on time, brought truck in for maintenance regularly, communicated with dispatch in case of problems, turned in paperwork on time, ensured that receits matched the logs, and updated the hours of service daily (which ensured that I was dipatched and drove legally). All of the above can be found in the description of driver's duties at Florilli or any other trucking company. In other words, successful driver is the one following company policies. Quite obviously, Chad is not interested to follow through with his duties as a truck driver. In which case, maybe he should flip burgers at a fast-food joint, besause we don't need irresponsible people like him behind the steering wheel of a semi. P.S. Florilli are in the business of earning income by transporting time-sensitive refrigerated freight over long distances and irregular routes. If the driver has so many personal problems that he needs to be home most of the time, maybe he should consider a regional/ local job. Otherwise, MCDonalds is always hiring.

First Off maybe you need to understand something, as a driver you have no recourse with DAC. you can put a supplental statement with ant errors on the report and thats it. So think about the company who reads the report sees the BAD....INCORRECT info first. As an owner of a small trucking company I don't use DAC, its a black ball list of drivers, and to the drivers defense its not all there fault. As an owner, I also respect the Driver. Things Happen....but since you don't have a regular job...things that happen are not important to trucking companies. Rember without Trucks America Stops....Without Drivers Truckstop.

Chad: Lets take a look at a few things. Your girl friend has all this experience and degrees and she can't have or pay somebody to fix her water? Slander? Sexual harrassment? Common on, get on with your life. Who needs this stuff? Threats. Its a big deal for them to threaten you, right? Did you not threaten to deadhead home? That's ok, right? If what is on DAC is in error, then you will have a chance to correct it. If you were to come to my company, I wouldn't hire you based on what you said. This Mike may be another snotty punk who doesn't recognize without drivers he doesn't have a job but to me it sounds like you've got an attitude problem too. And that's easy to develope in an OTR environment. Next job remember to treat your employer like a professional without regard as to how they treat you. Then remember, without customers there's no need for anyone!

Florilli claims sexual harrassment and gave me more for my law suit

I just got my DAC report and man did Florilli give me more for my law suit. When I took my leave they reported me as quit/terminated. And gave me a good work record. Then when I came back for a month and then actually was terminated they put down misuse use of company funds...do you not have to get authorization for a com check...log violations...who doesn't have to run illegal for them...and a bunch of other incorrect things. How can you have so many bad things in one month??? Then they charged me for my drug test/ physical, bus and cab fair, truck detailing...200.00 for a very clean truck...lumper fees, and 1000.00 worth of other things. If they were going to charge me for those things should they not have done it when I was quit/terminated the first time??? They say I owe them more than 1000.00 in charges and held my last 2 checks...legally they can charge me for those things but not hold pay checks. Thanks Florilli for giving my attorney more ammo....

Florilli claims sexual harrassment

#6Author of original report

Wed, November 12, 2003

Florilli sent 2 drivers to pick up my truck. The super trucker that picked it up drove across my neighbors yard claiming he couldn't make the swing out of my driveway. He claimed he had been driving 20 years. I get the truck in and out of my driveway and I have been driving a year and a half..hmmm...the man that brought him made a few remarks to my fiance that I didn't like. Needless to say I called Mikey to tell him about the guy driving across the yard and he claimed we had a truck parked in front of it. The truck he speaks of has been parked in the same spot for months because it doesn't run which was NOT in front of their truck. I then mentioned I didn't appreciate what the other driver said to my fiance and Mike claims the driver in question reported that my fiance had sexually harrassed him and he was going to press charges. My fiance has way to much class to hit on a trucker in front of my children let alone sexually harrass him. Mike was trying to turn everything around on us. He then told me he hoped I have a Merry Christmas with no job! I advised him I had a new job with a better company. Mike said "well then your Christmas present will be on your DAC" Once again he threatened me with ruining my work record. When I get a copy of my DAC I am headed to my "free" attorney (a relative of my fiance) and a law suit will be filed as well as slander charges as he claims my fiance sexually harrassed someone. By the time we are done with Florilli, there will be no Florilli!!!! Brad, you need to dump your troubles (Mike) before you no longer have a company, a company that Murray built with a lot of hard work and I'm sure you will let the whole family down. You may end up back stocking groceries!
