First USA Visa, under the direction of James Dimon, CEO, has consistently engaged in policies thatwere intended to enhance the bottom line at consumer expense. In 1999 they credited an "on time" payment as "late", even though it had cleared my bank prior to the due date. This resulted in Late and Overlimit fees. The fees were refunded, but the "Late" status remained.

While I was in a thrid world country, which did not have access to 800 phone numbers, one payment was inadvertantly missed by a family member. I explained this upon my return, but they acted like I was a deadbeat trying to get away with something. First USA Visa raised my interest rate retroactively on the entire balance, not just new charges, which effectively doubled my payments.

When I tried to deal with their phone reps, they were casually indifferent, i.e., smug, arrogant, condescending, and immature. I finally wrote to the president's office and suggested that Jamie Dimon spend some time in infectious muck behind a water buffalo in a third world country in order to learn what it was like to not be an arrogant snob, and act like a human being.

I eventually settled the account for 85% of the balance due, considering the exorbitant interest that had been added on. Then, they provided me with an incorrect payoff amount, which left me making payments on the remaining balance.

Recently, First USA Bank, NA modified my credit report to say that I was 60 days behind on payments, referred to collection, and that I had settled for less than the full amount. There is no mention, of course, of what they did first!

When I brought this to their attention, they had a Miss Lisa Lynch reply to me, who took it upon herself to ignore the history of the case, and conveniently made up answers that fit what First USA wanted to hear.

For example, I "had been offered the option of paying off the remaining balance in three installments". Well, what about the inaccurate payoff amount? I even questioned it, based on my own calculations, and they said it was right, and yet I ended up with a bill.

I consider Mr. Jamie Dimon, former "Wunderkind" of Bank One of Chicago (Barron's article), and current CEO of First USA to be guilty of criminal malfeasence, and he should be prosecuted under Federal Law for intentionally exploiting consumers for the benefit of the corporation by placing false and inaccurate information in their database.

I also have insisted that James Dimon send me an apology in writing over his signature, which the apologists for First USA regard with scorn and contempt. Of course, it is my intention to force him to deal with his mistakes, but he is insulated from reality so he can pretend to be here to rule poor credit card users who don't know any better.

First USA is an arrogant, self-serving entity, like many contemporary businesses, that does not believe in being held accountable for unethical behavior in the marketplace. James Dimon is a smug, dishonest excuse for a CEO, in that he will not avoid injustice in pursuit of greater wealth. Therefore, he belongs in jail.
