First Texas Homes AC unit does not perform as it should and First Texas failed to correct issue Dallas Texas
We built our home new and moved in March 2014. Initally we were told we would have 2 AC units with zoned heating and cooling. This did not happen. We were told after the house was started that the house had to be 3000 square feet or 2 story. Our home is 2900+ square feet. Had we been told this requirement to begin with, we could have increased the size to meet this ridiculous requirement. We have had issues with our AC and heat since we moved in. We have rooms that are too cold and rooms that don't get cool enough in the summer and stay cold in the winter. Our AC does not distribute air evenly and never has.
We have made NUMEROUS warranty complaints and requests and First Texas has sent K&S Air Conditioning out NUMEROUS times. They have seriously been to our home more times than we can count. They have installed runs and runs and more runs off of runs. The last thing they finally did after more than 2 years of complaining was to install a 2nd thermostat.
We had our AC unit serviced for routine fall maintenance a couple of months ago. During this visit, the company inspected the unit. There were several things noted that are disappointing and unacceptable. During all of the issues we have had with the AC, your company always sends K&S out. We were basically forced to trust that K&S knew what they were doing and First Texas was using a trustworthy company. It seems this is not the case. We have tried to get issues fixed for years and have been scammed into thinking First Texas and K&S were working to get our issues resolved. The following things were noted and need to be addressed.
1. The work completed by K&S is not up to code. We were told that there are things in our attic done by K&S that would not pass code right now. One of these things is a duct that is too close to the roof line and nails coming through the roof right beside the duct.
2. There are too many runs off of runs off of runs. More than one run off of a run defeats the purpose of a run.
3. The 2nd thermostat really doesn't work efficiently unless the other one is off. We were tricked into believing this was going to help our house be more evenly temperature controlled.
4. The company that came out said we should have absolutely had a second smaller unit. He said based on size, height of celings, and distance between rooms, the current unit can not provide the air and heat evenly as needed.
5. Temperatures were read in each room and were still determined to be off from what they should be. We still have 1 room that is much warmer or cooler than the other. And my son's room is still hot in the summer and cold in the winter.
We do not want K&S back to our home. We do not trust them, nor do we really trust First Texas at this point. We want the issue fixed or a settlement to have the work completed ourselves.

We moved into our house August 17, 2017 and they can not get our house to cool.
The master bedroom is so hot they make up all kinds of excuses as to why it's hot and none of them are due to any of their errors.
I understand that you will point the vent to the hottest area of the room but to have the air blowing only on the window so the air that is in the room is warm air and not cold air.
They make no since to me what so ever.
I moved out of a home built in the 80's and never had an issue with keeping it cool.
First Texas is now stalling to fix things in my house becuase we are getting so close to the 1year warranty.
I have had to request issues 4-5 times and still nothing. I have come to the realization that anyone that works with First Texas is trash right along side of First Texas.
