I have a story similar to many of the others told about First Premier Bank. I recently received one of their credit cards, not understanding that nearly half of my credit limit was already gone before I used the card. That put me into a financial bind that I could do without, to put it mildly.

First Premier rebutts by saying that the consumer should read their paperwork. That's true. We should. However, a company that is ethically sound should not have to hide behind its legal language to justify its unethical practices, which include taking advantage of people who are trying to put their financial lives back together.

I guess anyone can get away with anything if they find the right legal words for it.

I love this company. I realize there were fees attatched to the credit card, but I read the disclosure. If you are SERIOUS about building or rebuilding your credit. This is the company. Don't blame a company for "hidden" fees....the only hidden fees....are fees not listed. It is our responsibility to read up on all contracts we sign our name on....or apply for Don't talk bad about a company who is honestly trying to help you with your credit problems. ....just remember.. most companies won't even take a second look at MY credit report and Premier Bankcard has been so helpful. I am so happy to have their help. Read all the print on everything you apply for. If you are too lazy to read it....download Bonzi buddy and have the purple gorilla read it for you. We can all listen can't we? Just copy and paste the info you want read...and hit talk. Let's be adults here and realize the only people ripping us off is ourselves....let's make our payments on time so we get no late fees...let's stay under our credit limit so we get no overlimit fees.......and let's read our disclosures and know what we are applying for so we don't have to blame some company for us being lazy. I love this bank!!! Customer service is outstanding....very professional and very polite. In my experience as a consumer...I found that being calm and polite while talking to customer service is what gives you great results and also a better feeling about yourself. Remember...these people are there to help you out...and they do a great job at that...and if you do have a problem with any company....call and politely discuss that with a service representative. Don't demand your wishes upon them.....be an adult...understand they DO want to help you..........kindness flys further than heated words. Try it sometime....you'll be glad you did. But final thought on the subject. THIS IS THE BEST CREDIT COMPANY ON THIS SIDE OF THE SUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Infact, I think I will write Premier a thank you card for being there for me when nobody else would
