Gateway Computers, First Link Benefits rip-off! Champagne New York
My wife and I received a telephone call from First Link on December 10, 2004 at 1:00 PM. The man on the line claimed a credit card account was approved for my wife with a credit line of $2,500. The man said we must first pay upfront fee of $354.90. The man stated no interest on any purchases on the card for two years. I started to question the man about the offer He became upset. He had an "Indian" accent and could be calling from the other side of the world so we were careful. Was the fee just an application fee or was it a fee that came with a guaranteed card?
The man claimed the card was guaranteed. The man also claimed the company was associated with Gateway Computers. The man claimed that a free computer would be sent in addition to the new card. The man said "Let me have you speak with my supervisor" Another man came on the line and said her was the supervisor. I asked his name. He said "Mark Allen" Mark Allen claimed that it was guaranteed and is deal was not as represented we had protection under banking laws.
We did a Google search of the company name and saw the Rip-Off Report. DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE! THEY ARE VERY CONVINCING! THEY WILL LIE RIGHT TO YOUR FACE!!
