Firestone unnecessary repairs refuse warranty Round Rock Texas
In 2014 I went to this Firestone for my state inspection. I was told that I needed a lot of repairs in order to pass the inspection. Among these repairs included fixing the license plate light bulb (which they "repaired" but only three months later it needed to be changed again) and replacing the tires. Firestone represented that the new tires they sold to me would last 70,000 miles.
Two years and 30,000 miles later, these tires are no longer sufficient to pass another state inspection. I went back to this Firestone to exercise the warranty and was met by a representative. Without checking my vehicle, the rep decided to make a conclusory as well as false statement that I hadn't rotated my tires. The rep was vehement in his position that he would not honor the warranty unless I take the time to search through receipts and invoices from the past two years in order to determine which companies I had my oil changed over the past two years and then have each one of them send evidence of rotating the tires.
Such a time-consuming project is not reasonable under the circumstances when the state vehicle registration will not be renewed due to failure of a state inspection. More importantly, there is no valid reason that tires warranted for 70,000 miles would last only 30,000 unless someone at Firestone did something wrong.
